Mumbai Indians .. Rock Da Party !!!!
by Reza Arif on Apr 01, 2009 02:06 PM  | Hide replies

My money is on Mumbai Indians .. Sachin is in awesome form ... Duminy also has been doing great for SA .. Dwayne has just played an awesome knock for Windies ... Jayasuriya on his day can massacre any bowling lineup .. and with Zaheer and Bhajji .. the bowling is strong too ... Dhawal Kulkarni is an interesting prospect!!

One more mistake
by Orient Mystique on Apr 01, 2009 11:45 AM

The MI franchisee has been committing mistakes after mistake.

The first was to select Sachin as captain last year, though he was unfit physically. The second was to make Bhajji the stand-in captain, the third was to make Pollock the second stand-in captain.

They should have selected Jayasuria as the first choice captain right away. Nobody in the team represents the spirit of cricket better than Jayasuria. More so in the shorter versions of the game. It is a tribute to this man that he is mentally and physically far better than some of the younger guys - look at the way he bats, bowls and hold your breathe - fields!

Yet another mistake of the franchisee was to engage Harsha Bogle as adviser or whatever. RCB did the right thing is jettisoning Charu Sharma who, though they also erred in the first place in engaging him.

Now, they are making yet another blunder by inducting Pravin Amre as coach. This gentleman was essentially a batsman in "test mould" similar to the likes of Anshuman Gaekwad, Chetan Chauhan etc.

If Lalchand Rajput could not continue for personal reasons, then the best thing would have been to make Jayasuria the captain-cum-coach-cum mentor, similar to Shane Warne for Rajasthan Royals.

While the exit of Nel, Pollock and advent of Zaheer may bolster MI bowling, MI might just have to find a better replacement for Nehra and also some good middle order batsmen.

prasad..you are a typical madrasi.. Get this fact now
Average of 42.50 intests is well above standards.
In first class average of 48.6..phew brilliant isn't it. You don't need lobbies for such records. But average by mumbai's standards..Cricket runs in Mumbais blood..not idli sambar..Ayyo.

Srikanth had an average of 29 in tests. with only 2 centuries. Average of 34 in First class. And he was the best player Tamil Nadu could provide india.
So stuff.

Prasad / Andy,

Plz dont bring regionalism here .. Arent we sick of Divide and rule policy??? Politicians keep dividing us in the name of religion, caste, proffesion, language etc... Do we need to follow them and continue hraping on divide and rule policy ..

I feel MI has a real good chance this season .. one of the biggest reasons is Sachin's form .. secondly .. Zaheer is a much more mature bowler and will be an asset to the team in the bouncy pitches of SA ..

About Amre / Srikanth .. we are looking at their records when they were playing .. coaching and mentoring is a completely different job and needs a completely different skill set .. Amre has proved by leading a good Ranji side to victory .. and thats all that counts!!!

Let's enjoy the matches ... Let the Games begin!!!
