How to kill Cricket and cash it!
by James Bond on Mar 30, 2009 11:38 PM  | Hide replies

Oh my GawhD! First we had the PYJAMA cricket thanks to Kerry Packer, which has since become "legal" and renamed ODIs. Recently, ECB started the No JAMA cricket aka 20:20 Baseball type cricket. Now, ECB wants a "Buffoon"cricket TEST MAtch? If they think they are thinking Out of the Box,they are out of their minds!
Isn't one Stanford failure enough?

If test match remained untouched, then it should have been limitless tests, uncovered pitches, no third umpire, or how many bouncers can a bowler bowl per over, or how many fielders can be placed on the on-side.

Everything evolves and cricket cannot be immune.

Thanks SU!
No problem about evolution of the game. Talking of uncovered pitches, England had an Umbrella of a bowler called Derek Underwood, who used to rip through any opposition on a damp wicket!
Of yesteryears, the Bedis and Gavaskars and Srikanths used to play on Matting wickets.
The game's still evolving and should. Let ECB think of better ideas than day-night test matches.
Let the ICC and BCCI take off their holier than thou cloaks and integrate ICL. Kapil's no pushover when it comes to cricket. Give him his due and Indian Cricket would not have been what it is today w/o him. There can't be two rules for ICL and ECB!

Ahahahaa bond,
I liked the terminolgy you used...
Test matches should remain untouched, atleast one form of cricket shd stay in its original avatar. If test matches are result oriented, ppl themselves remain hooked and watch it.

International Cricket Commission???!!
by satish p on Mar 30, 2009 11:20 PM

when did they rename International Cricket Council as International Cricket Commission?? Was it because they r just interested in commissions only?

Be sure BCCI would hijack this idea and ECB would start to squabble as they did with IPL..

How to book tickets in low cost airlines
by andrewsmith on Mar 30, 2009 10:40 PM

Low cost air lines in India is far more expensive than any air lines in the world!!!

for kingfisher from London to banglore return return starts from 23000 ie for 18,000km up and down. for domestic flight 1200km return fare starts from 6500-12,000.

Lets talk how to book carefully. Initally they will chaep rates then gradully incerese till peak price till last week then suddenly drop prices in last week.

Always book tickets early and wait till last week. all agents say last 2 tickets remaining dont get fell to air lines agents trick!!!Book first or wait till lat week. All domestic airlines have empty seats left so no need to worry tickets will run off.

PYJAMA CRICKET
by doc on Mar 30, 2009 10:23 PM

THIS IS A WELCOME MOVE & WILL INDIANIZE THE GAME. CRICKET WILL RECEIVE A FILLIP IN INDIA, WITH POLITICIANS CLAIMING IT IS NOT A TRULY SWADESHI GAME AKIN TO KABBADI, KHO KHO, GHILLI DHANDA, ETC.
ALSO, A SUGGESTION TO INDIANIZE THE NAME TO "GHILLIKHET" WILL BE APPRECIABLE. ON THE SAME WAVELENGTH, WE COULD THEN COIN A NEW AETIOLOGY TO THE WORD, CLAIMING IT TO HAVE AROSEN FROM INDIAN PEASENTS WHO PLAYED IT WITH A BALL "GHILLI"IN FARMS "KHET"AFTER THE HARVEST SEASON.
