Indian's money? How do you figure? Businesses use their own money. The government is the one having "Indians money". Don't persecute people that come up with great profit making ideas.

I now understand why, from 1950 to almost 1990, our economy grew at just 2%.

Yup we do agree with u but the point u should note that they are the one who started the game of cricket,ODI or t20. India is really dominating world cricket by conducting this sort events..but its very sad that Govt is against it..i am sure even english people would loved to have IPL held but wouldn't be a success as first season.

how to craft, polish and display a good event..IPL is one of the best initiatives by the private sector of India
it has set the bar for holding events. it has got the interest of whole world
india should craft and polish this competition for 3-5 years .
it is good fun..a ground for training of younger players and gives them good pay.

why give such opportunities so QUICKLY ??

see how the domestic US football and basketball tournaments are held for so long and such big events

India still under British rule.
by Alice Janho on Mar 22, 2009 06:37 PM  | Hide replies

Thanks to the corrupt politicians ,India is still under british rule.We have to play there for our safety and security and also for politicians to concentrate on money making instead of getting british to train our forces ,create homeland security for all citizens and being selfreliant. Why not outsource roads, railways and infrastructure projects in our country to outsiders like japanese, british etc too.It will be a win win situation for us all.

IPL in UK
by Meh on Mar 22, 2009 06:15 PM  | Hide replies

IPL should be held in UK if it moves out of India.
We have a very big south asian expats here and secondly it will be good for the local economy of UK.
There are no security concerns in UK and would give a big boost to cricket in UK.

History has repeated again and England has gained once again due to the infighting among Indians. Doesn't it sound familair?

Think these guys will sell their own mothers wombs for a quick Rupee!!!

Honestly just a couple of weeks ago we had this lame idiot called L MODI say no question of changing the venues what is the point it is a domestic competition. Then we heard him on live TV state we will run this competition in India and show the world we are capable of running events in India and it will adverse image on India if we do not run this competition. It is a question of national pride.

NOW WE FINALLY SEE HOW MUCH NATIONAL PRIDE THEY HAVE !! ALL THESE GUYS ARE BEING MADE DO TO THE HARD WORK OF THE AVERAGE INDIAN !! THE AVERAGE INDIAN IS MADE A JOKE BY THE BCCI AND ALL THOSE FRANCHISE OWNERS!! WE HAVE BEEN SOLD FOR A MERE 1000 CORES NOT TO FEED THE POOR OR IMPROVE THE LIVES OF THOSE WHO NEED IT !! BUT TO FURTHER FILL THE POCKETS OF THESE SOUL-LESS MONEY HUNGRY MONGRALS!! THEY CLEARLY HAVE NO RESPECT OF THE COUNTRY'S ELECTIONS, THE COUNTRY's PEOPLE !! THEY DO NOT DESERVE ANY INDIAN TO THEIR LEAGUE!! CALL IT SOMETHING ELSE!! NATIONALISE THE INDIAN CRICKET TEAM AND ABOLISH THE BCCI !! GET QUALIFIED IAS or private sector people to run it and be answerable to the Government!!

I for ONE WILL NOT WATCH THIS MONEY HUNGRY TOURNAMENT !!! TO HELL WITH IT !!! NOT INDIAN NO PRIDE ALL ABOUT MONEY FOR THE WEALTHY!!

Do u even understand the meaning of national pride...what Govt of India did is a national pride, bull shit. This country can,t even hold 2 big events, this shows the inability of our central govt. We should not forget that BCCI paid almost 90 crore of only income tax to india. I think u people should think b4 writing the crap, secondly evry one is earning from IPL. the Central GOVT, the state GOVT.

Please holding two events!! There was no need for it!! National Elections is more important any day to a bunch of cricket matches that is just for the purpose of making the wealthy more richer!! so the value to the lives of 100000 fans in a cricket venue is 90 cores? tell me how much would you sell your mother for to the BCCI? or Your FATHER? atleast having a Government that values the life of the average Indian where the BCCI has never done is a clear indication of the facts! If you have an issue feel free to move with the IPL to SOUTH AFRICA or ENGLAND MATE !!!!

Mentality displayed above by "jamescunnin" is the reason for "hi**u rate of growth" that India enjoyed for 4 decades. Blame private enterprise just because they are successful.

We never learn our lessons - history repeats

What happened 2 centuries ago in subcontinent is repeating again. Only this time its economic occupation, 2 centuries ago it was territorial occupation. At both time the Brits have received on golden platter due to the internal bickerings.

The show will go on...
