Ponting should know that its all not about capatincy.......plus dont try to bring someone down to look good ,,,,,,by saying any aussie would have grabbed cataincy by both hands if offered ,,,,,,,,, Learn to Be polite & Nice .. after all you represent a good country--Australia !!!! If you keep talking like this ,, you wont have very many fans left ....its because of your talking you have so many of your own spoorts writers against you in their columns !!!!!!!!

typical aussie brainfart
by slash five on Mar 20, 2009 01:47 AM

they like to give themselves a halo , a ring around their names and fancy tag to themselves for being great even when they are not loved or respected. they would love to force that issue.

its just a game, and the team structure and ethos , the culture differs from country to country. the brash abrasive egoistic culture of the oz speaks louder than his words!

REACTION

When Imraan reads this statement - "We've picked his technique to pieces over the last few days and now we just need to execute our plans against him from the start to make sure he does not get away." - What do you think will go through his mind?

For a guy making his debut, listening to a statement like this from an extremely experienced opposition captain it must be sening cold shivers down his spine!
Aussies are really master at mental manipulation.

yeah this australians every time they will say that they have a plan on how to get tendulkar out. but see the record of sachin tendulkar against aussies. they just want to keep pressure on batsmen mentally. as far as iam concerned if the opposition team plays well without playing rash cricket they can beat aussies.

South Africa is not the world no. 1 in test
by Sethu Raja on Mar 19, 2009 03:28 PM  | Hide replies

If the team wants to be world no.1 then they have to play good cricket throughout the five days, not only two to three days like South Africa. South Africans are quite lucky that they won it in Australia. Aussies proved they are strong again. Now the competition is between India and Australia for No.1 in test.

doesnt matter about the number. im happy that the oz team is knocked off the high pedestal. i hope we can thrash the nz team 3-0, and then we surely have a chance to gain some good points.

Bcoz compared to Indians less politics, they speak the same language, play for their country, less advt endorsements, promote youngsters(we stl hv Tendulkar,Laxman,Dravid)....Unfortunately India is like Europe & different state associations & want their players in & politicians in BCCI..

True!!

I also could not understand who else is available in India who is a guranteed replacement for Sachin, Rahul and co.

People cry about politics and regional partiality. But now a days the best available players are normally in playing eleven.

If you feel the current team is not the best, suggest your playing eleven. I am sure at international level no othe player in india will be a guranteed success than any body in the playing eleven
