The whole world look up with respect our legendary cricketers like Sachin and Dravid. However certain people who have very little knowledge of cricket or who started loving cricket when 50 overs & 20 overs introduced started feeling bored of them. But please understand Sachin and Dravid are the only two classic batsmen we have now in the team whereas all others are nothing more than paidentertainers!

there is diff between Dravid and Sachin...

Dravid plays for country...
Sachin plays for self...

Even the Lara wanted Dravid to replace him.. not Sachin...

Sportsman spirit means avoid unnecessary criticism.
by Rasheed Ahmed on Mar 18, 2009 10:47 PM  | Hide replies

It is most unfortunate that some people criticise any indian celebrities for narrow mental reasons, or simiply becoz Indians are happy about this.

Rediff must indentify such people and disqualify them here.

Sports and Arts are above petty politics and jealousy.,

Problem for moderator is how to identify them. Some of your interest might inadvertently look narrow mindedness. Its tough job being moral policing here.

Match Plan
by SHANE on Mar 18, 2009 09:53 PM  | Hide replies

As long as Viru is there we can get some quick runs and if he manages 100 or 200 tomorrow then we should try to make as much runs (approx. 650) in next 2 days that gives us lead of around 400 runs and then we should try to bowled out NZ in next two days.

I don't understand why dravid still sticking to be in the team despite he knows it is time to retire international cricket, preventing chance younger players, his reflexes are bad ie he has dropped catch of Vettori @77 of Harbajansing, it is high time team management should consider him for future test matches.
He must retire like ganguly so that he is not liability to team.

Sachin infact is one of the most selfless cricketers you could ever get...he has won many matches single-handedly for India..no point in exposing your ignorance and making stupid allegations Mr.whoami

Sachin has played his part for the country. Now let more and more youngsters come and let one of them become a Sachin one day! If the youngsters are not given chance when will they prove their worth which Sachin once proved??
Sachin won matches singlehandedly a decade ago, so what??? now we have so many match winners and the team is winning without Sachin's contributions also. SO let Sachin understand and retire with dignity and in form which Kumble and Ganguly did.

Really ? Then how did he manage to average above 40 in 2008, and above 47 in 2007 in ODI cricket ? How did he manage to score above 1400 ODI runs in 2007 ? And how did he manage to score above 1000 Test runs last year ?

Doesn't a Lion gets old??
All should get a fair chance to show their capability. As Lion's are not made in a day, similarly youngsters should get chances to becocme a lion. Thanks to Sachin for doing a splendid job for the country, we are proud of you! Now think of the young cricketing talent who are craving for chances to show their worth and ability.

so you want Sachin to play for the team as a motivator?? So why does not he retire and become a coach??
He can provide motivation in that way also. He should allow more youngsters to come than go for more and more records which no one can break!Selfish !

Look at their attitude. Its not only Daniel but many sportsmen of New Zealand has proven sportsmanship at its best.

Nice to see Daniel in same group as well.

Dhyan Chand ji biography proves New Zealanders attitude towards champion irrespective of any nation.
