Serious Blow
by Mahi on Mar 17, 2009 02:54 PM

Many were happy find Pakistan completely isolated from cricket on their home venues, now Indians are also feeling the heat wave of the trauma of Pakistanis.

May be IPL will be another casualty after Changing of Champions trophy's venue to South Africa

REDUCE THE NUMBER OF MATCHES
by damodaran mohan on Mar 17, 2009 12:35 PM

In view of the clashing of dates with elections IPL management should try to understand and accommodate govt. security constraints. Hence, instead of being rigid IPL should show some flexibility and reduce the number of matches to half by limiting to playing only single leg basis. This will reduce the entire logistics requirements which can be roughly worked out as below;
no. of matches: 30(around)
no. of matches per day: 2
no. of playing days: 15
no. of venues; 7
(delhi,mumbai,kolkatta,chennai,bangaluru,jaipur & A'bad--all airport location)
no. of matches per venue:4(5 for two venues)
matches cycle : 1 match every 10days in case of 45 days spread.
The dates can be suitably adjusted with respect to election days.
organizing security for this truncated version should not be a problem.

Advertisements, thy name is trash
by swetambar on Mar 16, 2009 10:49 PM  | Hide replies

I feel that the MNCs are having a field day during these bonanzas. For them rupees are nothing when equated in dollars. Let us see the kind of advts.

Cool drink ad: a circus buffoon does all feets on the road to catch a cola bottle

Soaps: a shameless actor shows her body soaked with soap and the ad says, her body glows

Fairnes creams: countless, speciality creams for men and women, so far none for old and dead

Junkfoods: kids looking like animals in zoo waiting for their mom to throw the junkies on them

This kind of trash on TV all through the match. Who will protect the poor consumer on the cheating and advt in the name of marketing

Looks like a drama ?
by UsualSuspect on Mar 16, 2009 10:37 PM

This so-called IPL crisis looks like a drama meant to make Congress appear like a good guy when the crisis gets eventually resolved.

Everybody knows IPL means big bucks and that IPL will never be cancelled.

Any drama happening in an election year should raise suspicions !

For the kiddish and cruel way they treat the ICL, it serves the IPL right. IPL & BCCI should learn to chose the path of love

by Anil Kumar on Mar 16, 2009 10:16 PM  | Hide replies

congress govt in center and congress ruled states reect IPL because they are demanding money from IPL and franchises for election campaining.

In AP congress CM has already collected 1000s of crores from SATYAM scam for sonia ghandi...he is also a christian like her..so they are looting India.

Already Rs.50,000 crores are missing from central govt. funds..according to audit general of india.
