India will do better
by vathula on Mar 16, 2009 03:26 PM

in tests thanks to the experience. Indian bowling is the key. Also, Dhoni has to buck up his wicket keeping. He can't hide any more as lot more balls will come to him now.

Undependable Rohith
by indira on Mar 16, 2009 10:40 AM  | Hide replies

We could have taken a clean sweep of the ODIs had we not included Rohith Sharma in the final match. He can't rotate strike and also runs his partners out. He is a poor runnner between the wickets. Because he didn't rotate strike, Sehwag got out as soon as he got the strike as he was denied of it for almost 10 balls. Better send R.Sharma to domestic cricket again so that he can fine tune his game.

Is Sehwag mentally so weak that he just can't cope with a situation that his partner has played 10 duck balls?? At the highest level of cricket one should be able enough to handle ones game according to the situation. You can't get beltor of a pitch every match. I hope Indians learn from their mistakes.

truth hurts!!!
by SUJATHA KUMAR on Mar 16, 2009 09:21 AM  | Hide replies

truth always hurts, isnt it? Moles has got rights to voice his opinions and the way the indian team got spanked any opposition coach would have been surprised. Its a well known truth that against bouncers and quick pitches we have always been found wanting - even sachin, dravid , lax all have failed on very quick wickets. the coming test matches are going to be just that - super quick wickets. we have just one bowler who can bowl long spell-zaheer khan coz he has stamina, not the starving ishant sharma who runs out of gas after just four overs.. well we can only hope that we prove moles wrong... the taste of the pudding is in the eating... lets wait ..

First, there is no harm in accepting that some of our batsmen are found wanting against bouncers and short stuff. But in the last year, we have won at Perth - reputedly, one of the fastest and bounciest.

I think its all about confidence in the end. Sachin, in the last 12-18 months is playing much better against short stuff; looks much more balanced when he sways back or ducks. Sehwag has added pull / hook to his game and Gambhir isn't intimidated. It'll come down to the mindframe that Dravid and Lax show in the series - if they are confident and positive, we have a great batting line-up; if not, we are relying on Gambhir, Sehwag, Tendulkar and Dhoni. Yuvraj will, no doubt, continue to be a liability in the long-form because he is circumspect against spin and short stuff.

by waris khan on Mar 16, 2009 09:07 AM

Now, next you will go and count all the matches from 1947 till date and will say, look we have got new nos... The reality is that the New Zealand team really didnt except for the last match, what all is falling on them??

Mr.Moles should go and hid in his hole
by prem mohanty on Mar 16, 2009 08:44 AM

What a comparison by Andy Moles ? He should be realistic....lets compare the total number of games played and the number of runs scored and wickets take by NZ and India...India are way ahead....the two twenty matches were nothing but curtain raisers and if NZ feel that the test matches will be any better they better be ready to face the music

moles succumbed to his own mind games ! lols!
by slash five on Mar 16, 2009 07:41 AM

they wanted to put the onus on to indians and tried praising them and said indians were the best before the one dayers (but after beating them in T20), when the indian team whipped them they were beaten by their own mind games.

what we see now is reversal. they themselves need some assertion to back themselves. lols!

Andy Moles of NZ was in tremendous pressure!!!
by rao on Mar 16, 2009 01:20 AM

First we need to look at all the games played from 20/20 to ODI. The NZ team lacked sportman spirit.Even the commentators were completely biased.Hats off to the India team. They were generous to donate half the man of the match amount to NZ. But their own men was silent on the receipt of the Man of the match award on the final ODI. Of course Andy Moles what he claims might be true. But this is utter stupid just bcoz he wants his seat safe. NZ lost badly to Oz since then Andy Moles position was in termendous pressure. Now he claims all this equations. The 2nd 20/20 was a close finish and our boys were getting used to the climate of NZ and the crazy NZ people attitude. Simon Doll was a Jack..as..s of all. He failed to congur.. India on their series win and up on handing over the trophy to India. Shame such fu..c..k er should be kick off the Sky TV commentrator. Apprication to RaviSha. and Mark Richardson for keeping up the real sportman spirit in their department. Whils other were Just as Jack..a.s.s. ICL needs to renew its terms with them soon. OZ and NZ had become total racial influence.Team India just pull out of Nz if this continues in test series. ICL need to address them(oz&NZ) soon.ICL should understand that the game of cricket is live bcoz of the Indian sponsors when their country and the world is in recession the Indian are cellin out on million of dollar on the sponsorship. But if they cannt appreciate this then India needs to pull out. World cricket will die soon.
