This IPL drama is going to be every year, that means couple of months every year cops, IB and other government resources has to work for them instead of protecting common man, taking care of country needs. I wonder why people are not thinking about it. It is sheer waste of common people tax money. If they put same couple of months effort every year to fight some of our internal problems I am sure we can resolve some of them. If it is about making money then they should use private security, hire the best in the world to protect players with the money they are generating.
Thats better use of Govt resources than elections. I ama mazed at some of the logic in this discussion about IPL being nothing but business. Its not just abt profit..what about the entertainment value for which people are willing to pay? U make it seem like people are flocking in lakhs just to give their hard earned money to pretty zinta and go home.
How about this. In IPL instead of cricketer, let Politician play on the ground. And winning Plitical party will form government. This will be Ek tir do nishana.
PPL IF U HAVE LITTLE COMMON SENSE JUST BAN ALL IPL MATCHES ITS USELESS. IT JUST FILLS POCKTES OF FEW BUSINESS MAN AND POLITICIANS AND ITS PROVEN NOW LALIT MODI IS A CHEAT. IPL should be charged Electricity Surchare Tax and Pollution Tax and also man days of security as per 6'th PAY COMMISSION rates.
Given a choice 80% of indians would prefer IPL to be played in the month of April N may and would ask for the polls to be postponed.Polls can almost be conducted anytime.But for cricket crazy India IPL in time would be prefered.Cus once monsoon sets in thats sometime ater the first week of june or last week of May the IPL would be a wash out.ask for SMS vote on this topic N this would be the reply.Mostly elections are nothing but a hogwash.Good Luck for IPL.Elections can wait.

excellent argument!! what about not having a government at all and let all play cricket matches and enjoy cheerleader dances. The country will run on its own, money will rain from heaven and our neighbors will also join in playing cricket matches
