West Indies Cricket

The recent slump in the West Indian Cricket has been mainly on extraneous reasons, mainly economic. The American, both the US of A & Canada, football and Athletics have been bleeding Carib Cricket of potential athletes taking on to this game. It is high tinme some West Indian fotrnmetr Cricketer or some Industrialist from those beautiful islands takes into their heads and start financing some well paid positions in West Indian Cricket and start a Caribbean Cricket Academy which should sponsor potential test cricketers in the English County, Australian domestic cricket and the Indian Cricket and then blood them into West Indies Cricket. This should be done without regional or racial bias. Of late we hear that Indian extraction cricketers are having it a bit tough out there. As one who has enjoyed cricket from Sir Frank Worrel, Weekes Walcot, Sir Garfield Sobers, Rohan Kanhai, Alwyn Kalicharan, Hall, Gilchrist, Robers, the Big bird Joel Garner and so on, we Indians find it very hard to digest that West Indian Cricket is not able to finance their cricket since we find that in India the most lucrative activity is Cricket and that eclipses even Politics.
