Defence minister(Hon'ble Mr Chidambaram) should take appreciable oneline call to crush the IPL game till end of Election, if there is risk there is no game, Latit should feel "Nation Fast Game last"

WHY PUBLIC MONEY SPENT ON IPL
by a a on Mar 06, 2009 07:56 PM  | Hide replies

I fail to understand why does the government have to provide security for a private event called IPL. They dont pay tax to government nor its an event associated with government sports event. SO WHY THE HELL IS GOVERNMENT PROVIDING SECURITY AND WAISTING TAX PAYERS MONEY???

Government is providing security because it is our right. Events like IPL are related to other businesses which are revenue generating like advertisements, renting grounds etc.

India successfully tests interceptor missile
Friday, 06 March , 2009, 17:03
Last Updated: Friday, 06 March , 2009, 17:07

New Delhi: India on Friday successfully tested an indigenous interceptor missile that destroyed an incoming "enemy" ballistic missile at an altitude of 80 km, an official said.

During the test, an 'enemy' missile which was a modified version of the Dhanush surface-to-surface missile was fired from a naval ship in the Bay of Bengal to simulate the terminal phase of the flight of a ballistic missile with a range of 1,500 km.

India test fires supersonic cruise missile BrahMos

As the incoming missile neared the Wheeler Island off the Orissa coast, a Prithvi air defence missile was launched to intercept it at an altitude of about 80 km and kill it, the official added.

The test was part of the Defence Research and Development Organisation's effort to put in place a ballistic missile shield.

WHEN WE USE THESE MISSILES.....THEY ALL GET CHOKKKE
