SELECT THE CORRECT TEAM.
by Srinivasan Renganathan on Mar 02, 2009 03:08 PM

The reasons for the defeat in 20-20 matchs are due to
1. Not adapting to the bouncing conditions & mindless hitting as in the sub-continent by players like
Gambhir, yusuf pathan, Irfan Pathan, Sewhag etc...

2. Not playing a specialist bowler like Praveen Kumar in place of either Irfan pathan or Yusuf Pathan.
3.Yusuf Pathan can play only slog shots against weaker bowlers in the sub continent. Otherwise, he is not a great batsman.
4. Irfan pathan's useless bowling is the cause of India’s most defeats. Unless, Dhoni & BCCI realises this, it will be very difficult for us to win outside the subcontinent.

For India to win, the team for the ODI' should be as

1..Virender Sehwag.
2.Sachin Tendulkar.
3.Gautham Gambhir
4.Suresh Raina.
.5.Yuvraj Singh.
6.Dhoni.
7.Yusuf Pathan or Irfan Pathan. (Ishanth Sharma after Injury)
8.Ravindra Jadeja.
9.Harbhajan Singh.
10.Praveen Kumar.
11.Zaheer Khan.

Gautham Gambhir for the past 5 to 6 matches is playing loose shots. That is the reasons for Indias defeat in the 20-20 games.
Tendulkar, Gambhir , Raina should play through the entire 50 overs. The other players like Sewhag, Yuvraj, Yusuf, Jadeja, Dhoni can go for the hits. Also, either Yusuf Pathan or Irfan Pathan can be played and certainly not both of them since they are suited only for sub continent pitches.
Ravindra Jadeja & Praveen Kumar should be automatic choices.
If, this combination is made, we can definitely win the ODI series.
Once Ishanth is fit he shou

1.san ordinary batsmen with some gud knocks
2.his batting style and strokes do not come gud outside sub comtinents.
3.a player with such a batting stride and strokes can never b successful abroad.
4.he cant play balls on rise
5.a gud player needs to paly well wat ever the condition may be.

Why India lost the match?
by seejo paul on Mar 02, 2009 03:05 AM  | Hide replies

Some one should play through out the innings and Dhoni did it, but his strike rate was not at all acceptable in 20/20s. Also his decision to bat first was a blunder. When Sehwag and Yuvraj was batting it seemed they dont have an idea of the target to be given. So they were going for everything. Had India known wat run rate was required, with this batting line up India would have easily achieved it. I am seeing for the first time Dhoni making a decision which is not sensible. One may say Dhoni was making a positive move. But being positive doesnt mean u need not have to be sensible. Different roles should be assigned to different players. I think Gambir, Raina and Dhoni should bat through out the innings while Sehwag, Yuvraj and Yusuf should go for the kill. Responsibilities should be divided. Jadeja and Irfan should play according to the situation. Irfan is a useful player, but if he is included in the team another bowler should be in the team say Praveen Kumar or Joginder Sharma. In domestic level they both are considered as power hitters. They should be given a chance explaining to them wat was expected from them.

Batting first was not Dhoni's decision. Vettori won the both tosses. Dhoni couldn't play his natural game beacuse of top and middle order failure. They were unable to give him proper platform to play aggressive.

Another aspect of it is that Dhoni is mature batsman which don't loose his wicket easily in pressure situation. You can say backbone of Batting line up.

there is just too much cricket for Indians
by NIRJHAR MAJUMDAR on Mar 01, 2009 09:23 PM

Indians love cricket but do they love so much of it? May be, there is business sense in playing international cricket every month. But, is it possible for a human being to motivate himself playing so much of high level cricket every week? I doubt,of course as a non-cricketer.Right now, Indians r playing at New Zealand. It's a very tough series. In March only, they will play 5 ODIs and 3 tests. Then there is IPL on the following month. No,Under such a situation we should not expect our men to perform well in all matches. The players r not complaining because they want to earn as much possible before they r 36 or 38. After that, there is no income for most of them from the game.

BCCI may ask its players not to play for any ICL team...but then...asking them..not to play in any team..which has someone from ICL...looks funny than anything else

BCCI thinks that cricket was inventet by their fore fathers and it is their famaly business. I pray to god truly that all the officials of the BCCI suffer the fate of Lalit Modi.
