Re: Ashes whitewash wasn't Bhookha Naan's doing...

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha....
Good one, buddy!
Celebrity cricketer of his days and controversial coach of Team India for 2 years, Greg Chappal became assistant to an unknown entity going by the name of Tim Nielsen, during India's tour of Australia for the avowed purpose of "revealing" the secrets of Indians and helping Aussies win. The world knows what came out of his revelations!
I sympathise the pommies, if they are going to give an inkling of regard to the inputs this guy Buchannan professes to possess and pass on to them.
Leaving these silly things aside, what does the Ashes Series 2009 itself hold for the fans? Very ordinary fare, I would guess.
From England Team, the exciting or atleast interesting guys to watch out are KP, Alistair Cook and James Anderson.
It is even more difficult to pick out some such name from the Aussie squad.
The series is named ashes. May the test series rest in peace!
About 1.5 years ago, Harbhajan Singh and Andrew Symonds were at the crossroads of their careers. Both were having tough times inside and outside the field, both were under intense media glare, both were facing disciplinary actions every now and then. The danger of a premature termination to their cricket careers were looming large.
Since then, we know how the story unfolded. Harbhajan managed the patience and determination to bring his career back to the right track. He took lessons from past events, but did not let himself to be depressed over his mistakes. Slowly but surely, his fortunes changed for the better. Today, he has re-established himself as India's premier spinner. Today, his tough times 1.5 years back are no longer the topic of the month.
And Symonds? His international career, for all practical purposes, is over for good. Despite being at the same critical point as Harbhajan, he has shown no interest in controlling his arrogance and bullish behavior. Rather, he has indulged himself in his pet hobby: alcoholism, and the consequences are open for all to see.
Is this tale of two friends only a reflection of their personal character? Probably not. It is also a manifestation of differences of Indian and Australian cultures. Where India, being a more accommodating and forgiving society, worked as a shock absorber, the rude, unforgiving Aussie culture only piled on the agony on poor Symmo.
Is this what Buchanan (another typical Aussie buuly) calls as "Secret"?
