Eng team is looking weak........
by Anurag Rathore on Jun 23, 2009 05:41 PM  | Hide replies

I don't think except Pieterson they have any quality test batsman. Strauss and Cook are good but not very good. Their bowling attack is also looking weak. Only S.Broad is up to mark. I think Australia will win the Ashes. England can surprise them only in 1 test.

I feel Pieterson was best choice for skipper. England selectors didn't give him enough chance. Just basis on 1 series loss against mighty indian side they sacked him from captaincy. It was very poor decision.

They were most of the time in top 3 since 2001 in ICC test ranking. England is good test side after 2001.

Simon Jones' future looks increasingly bleak after he was ruled out for the remainder of the season with his latest knee injury.

Agree with you, Australia will win 4-0 or 4-1.

Lack of a quality spinner will hurt England, as Aussie batsmen have shown their vulnerability against spinners (like Afridi, Ajmal, Gayle, Mendis, Murali etc) in the recent past.

I think England have a very weak bowling attack with 4 seamers among which only James Anderson and to some extent Ryan Sidebottom will be effective but yes you are right, They lack quality spinners in their team.........

u cant get a Warne,Kumble or a Murali in every team.
G.Swann is a very useful spinner who know what he is doing. So Aussies should be watching him carefully.

It is very unlikely.Aussies will find English conditions difficult to handle with quality bowlers like Macgra & Warne being not around. The batting is also suspect & outcome of Asesh may surprise all.

dear friend i respect ur love for australia
but australia is in a position where their heartbeat will increase when they face the england bowlers.
they dont have the unity in the team.
ricky and lee are not talking each other now a days and u r expecting them to win the ashes.
no way it will be the english team who will win the ashes this year 3-0

Brett Lee is not playin in this ashes, As for as performance is concerned Australia beat South Africa in South Africa in test matches 2-1 in 4 test matches, So no probs as for unity in Australian team is concerned.........
