West Indian Viv Richards did so against India in a Nehru Cup match at Mumbai's Wankhede in 1989-90. Viv richards was given MOM for taking six wickets at crucial time,when India was going strong.
It was Bob willis given MOM for captancy in 1983 world cup in their second match aganist srilanka.
Gus Logie was also given MOM for fielding,In match in 1986 in sharajah match.The opponent was either India or Pakisthan.

It's true Viv got MoM for his captaincy only. The match you are talking about was played in Delhi a week earlier than the Mumbai match

if one were to follow these stats,SACHIN,SOURAV,GABHIR are the only Indians to reach this landmark in a single year, one looks back at the treatment meted out to Sourav who undoubtedly is one of the greatest Indian captains EVER,ONE IS ASHAMED AT HOW PLAYERS ARE PAWNS AT THE HANDS OF THESE CORRUPT,selfish,gold-diggerslike sharad,lolit,rajev shookla & co.Wish these morons get thrown out of this board and our great legends get to run the board overlooked by an independent authority with strictly no monetary benefits.

Saurav was not ill treated at any time. It was the hue and cry of his supporters when he was dropped for pathetic display of his. Just because a batsman scores 1000 runs in one year he can not be included in the team for that reason for rest of his life.

u should know that sourav scored 3(in a match where many great indian batsmen failed) on his debut & wait for another 4 yrs for recall.dravid also scrored 3 in his debut but don't axed.u must to know that the plot was ready for his debut test also,but badluck to indians that he scored century to this occasion.these things are happen all through his career

In case you do not know, Saurav Ganguly scored a century on debut at Lords and Rahul Dravid scored a 95 in the same match sharing a partnership with Sourav Ganguly
