Excuse, excuse, and more excuses
by Guest on Jun 17, 2009 10:56 PM

Indian seem to offer plenty of excuses for every failures. None of these overpaid players are men enough to admit failures of their own. Lot of hype, very littel substance: sound a lot like a typical bollywood film.

I agree with Gary Kirsten that this team succumbed to fatigue. Another factor is lack of focus and motivation. I feel playing IPL just before the world T20 is a bad move

Kirsten is Spot On
by Sandy on Jun 17, 2009 02:27 PM

Gary Kirsten is spot on when he said that fatigue was one of the reason for India's poor showing. Everybody could see a tired Dhoni and Yousaf Patan trying to hit even when they where at crease for hardly 20-30 Minutes.I think any international player will have a better stamina than this in normal conditions. Its not that Australia has played more matches than India in this year. Its when that matches was played. Indian team has been playing international cricket non stop for the last 4 months and then the international nautanki called IPL also put in between the players would defenitly be tired. Kirsten had said fatigue as only one of the resons for Indias poor show alonw with many other reasons. The immature and corrupt media made it as the only reason and went all after Kirsten. BCCI cant run away from the responsibility. They have to take the blame. All the Ajay Jadeja and Ravi Shastri will blame Kirsten since they all are part of IPL and might loss thier revenue if Kirstens recomendations are implemented.

DHONI FALLS

I have been a big fan of Dhoni and defended him for long , specially during last year when Supporters of Senior players were after him.

But I have been badly disappointed with his total approach during WC T20.

First: HE has tiff with Sehwag, his Vice-captain. This is not a god sign for a captain who should carry entire team with him. Mind it , there were rumours of strained relationship of Dhoni with Sehwag earlier also.

Second : He became rude and argumentative with all Media persons - in order to hide his shortcoming.

Third : He started loosing his temper frequently-Where is 'Captain Cool'?

Fourth : He promoted himself to No. 3 position in warm-up matches and 2 matches against BD and Ireland. This was a big mistake, as he denied Suresh Raina MAtch practice before the big important games. This was a big blunder as Raina was supposed to be most consistent along with Gambhir

Fifth : When big matches came against WI and England, he suddenly dropped himself to no 5/6 and promoted Raina (as mentioned earlier)

Sixth : He excluded R P Singh against WI, though he was most economical bowler in IPL. Even in 2nd group match, he bowled RP for 3 hours only, and gave IShant full 4 overs even though he was expensive.
Seventh : Without first trying regular spinner Harbhajan and Yusuf/Jadeja, he tried part-time bowlers, who failed.

etc.
etc.
AND THERE WAS OVERALL LACKING OF SPIRIT,

why we are so much concerned? When kangaroos can be wiped off before super eight, what is great concern if India is thrown out of super eight?Off course this may reduce brand value of Dhoni.
