What a shamefull defeat!!!
by Guest on Jun 15, 2009 01:02 PM

two - three points about last day's lose against England.
1. RP was doing excellent bowling in IPL ( purple cap owner) and Ishanth is a big failure there, But still Dhoni selected to play Ishanth and he continued his failure there in T20 WC.
2. RP was doing well bowling against England, but unfortunaltey Dhoni didnt give RP to finish his full 4 overs.
3. By captaincy and form Dhoni is a failure in this WC ( Eg: -sending Jadeja as one down)
4. Feilding and running between the wickets was poor against England, they are making singles to double and India doing doubles to singles by running.

INTENT TO WIN WAS NOT THERE OR EVEN TO EVEN THE SCORE BY 2 RUNS
by pranav on Jun 15, 2009 12:45 PM

100% clearly there was no intent to win during last 3 overs or even middle overs. When we had the best worlds batsmen were there at crease then what was the problem of scoring another two runs to equal the score if not possible to win. The team management really need to investigate on his self as player and as captain on the attitude or mystery with DHONI without fail. He need to be punished if the intent was like AZARUDDIN and AJAY JADEJA. Team management - Krishnamachari- BCCI president-pl look into seriously
Yuvraj also to be questioned on his attitude and brain as well
Is that Jadeja cousin of Ajay Jadeja ????

yuvraj leting go the ball for 4 runs in the last over.
Dhoni resting p.ojha.
Suresh raina laughing in the paviliion, probably cracking jokes on the bench when yusuf was facing the last over.
All this shows over confidence of india team,v always lacked agression and consistency,i'm sure in no time we'll be the same ol' team which v were in the 90's.

Dhoni Selfish
by cool sree on Jun 15, 2009 12:28 PM

Dhoni thinks he is greater than all, makes stupid decisions which costs us the match.
I cant understand the role of coach kirsten here..What is he doing there when Dhoni is making this tactical blunders?
a common cricket loving man can captain India better than Dhoni did yesterday...What a shame that we have a captain like this?
yesterday's match proves whatever he was praised was fluke n overhyped captaincy. A commitment was enough, as we dont mind if
India lose after performing to their best n giving 100%. But Dhoni was not even trying to hit the ball when 4 & 6's were required.
What a selfish attitude to remain not out and in the end loose the game when bowlers like Harbhajan are still there who can
atleast improvise n play shots better than Dhoni. What is Dhoni's role here? to captain? to keep wickets? to score fast runs?
Has he done anything atleast to below average level in this tournament? We cricket loving people who has such passion
and understanding of cricket, has to see a guy whose leads India with such lack of spirit and commitment towards the nation.

benefit / cost of practice
by Gorango Thakurta on Jun 15, 2009 04:18 AM

Indian batsmen avoided practice against short-pitch bowling. Benefit: more shopping time and more English punani. Cost: getting kicked out of tournament. English bowlers practiced short pitched bowling, and brought in another fast bowler. Cost: hard-work. Benefit: chance of reaching semifinals.

To each his own. But, there is no substitute for hard-work.

In a way the problem is us. WE treat our cricketers like Gods whenever they win anything. Thats why they have inflated egos.

Hopefully this T20 WC will teach the cricketers a lesson.

everybody blaming jadeja. even i blame jadeja for slower batting. but the culprit is dhoni. when jadeja was sent 2 down, 2 batsman were out to brilling bowling from eng. they troubled the more accustomed bats like rohit n raina with short pitched deliveries, n they perished. had yuv or pathan been sent at no 4, even they cud hv been vulnerable against short pitched bowling done beautifully by eng. to shield yuv from this, dhoni sent jadeja above yuv. jadeja failed to accelerate the innings n now jadeja vl b made a scapegoat.

I agree with you. Jadeja will now be the scapegoat, and his career may be over.

Enough praising Dhoni..
We have seen how selfish a captain he is. He comes to top order batting and wastes balls and doesnt give chance to other players.
He dropped Irfan Pathan who is a much better batsman than him. Took RP singh to just bowl 2 overs. Sending Jedeja at no:4 was the most blunder
thing which was done as he is not a T20 player who doesnt have the power to hit 4 n 6's. Even when asking rate was above 11 runs an over Dhoni
was happy taking singles. Harbhajan coming ahead of him would have won the game for India. Such a selfish player, he will never give chance to
Dinesh Karthick who is a much better player than him, fearing that he will loose his place if Karthick plays well. We can understand if a batsman
gets out playing shots, but if he is not willing to play shots like we seen in yesterday's match, seriously we should doubt about his commitment
towards the country. Not giving chance to others to play is a serious crime. Jadeja should also be blamed for it.
Now Dhoni is just good for Ads, want to make as much money as possible before being thrown out of team.

Oh come on
by KandyKiljoy on Jun 14, 2009 11:00 PM

You guys just can't win. Now you are saying it is because of practice. Why look for excuses. You need better players for 20 over matches. Look at a country like Sri Lanka, only 20 million people, and we have more talent than India with a billion people. It is not about practice but about talent. Sinhalease are full of talent.
