Dhoni - far too lucky....
by Rajesh Shetty on Jun 13, 2009 01:01 PM  | Hide replies

Can anyone recollect which was the last time Dhoni played a match winning knock ? He has been extremely lucky guy as a captain, bcos of performances from others. Else I dont think in terms of skill, his batting and wicketkeeping are really classy. He is the batsman with the ugliest push and prod in modern day cricket.

His miserable batting is ignored just because India was winning. He was lucky to have such talented players in his team.

Dhoni is not comfortable against quality fast attack and also ball which is moving a bit.In future he may demote himself to No. 8 even

only god can save india
by Bhupender Bura on Jun 13, 2009 01:00 PM

Yesterday match lost credit goes to only and only Dhoni, firstly for his wonderful batting if we would have made 11 runs in 5 or 6 balls then india could have complete three more overs to bat which means atleast 20 runs addition. Seconldy he has given the crucial over to Ishant Sharma where as he should have given that over to Irfan pathan and next over instead of Harbhajan Singh to Zaheer Khan.

In my opinion if we see Dhoni carrer in T20 then he is no where and he should get himself out of T20 games.

Pathetic Duo of Ishant & Irfan
by Venkatesh Ramaswamy on Jun 13, 2009 12:56 PM

The Duo of Ishant sharma and Irfan pathan should have been replaced by RP Singh and Praveen Kumar ,as they have more variations.
As it happened , Ishant and Irfan pathan got clobbered allover the place by the windies , as Ishant Irfan bowled a predicatable line as always .

Dhobi - Post Match
by Srinivas G on Jun 13, 2009 12:47 PM

Our most intelligent captain Dhobi in post match...
"It was disappointing to lose",
Who in the right frame of mind on this planet will be happy to loose
"We didn't get a good start"
Why ? because I didnt let Raina (who has come into this T20 on the back of an excellent form) have an opportunity to bat in previous 2 games and get used to the conditions, now as the ball is new and opposition is strong I have to hide in the dug out and send Raina out
"me and Yuvraj tried to turn it around. I should have stayed for the slog"
ME and Yuvraj??? I have no clue of the bowling but still has to come in after Yuvi.... Yuvi launched a counter attack but I was standing and watching form the other end and wasting balls whenever I got the chance, since I was there I will say "ME ME ME and Yuvraj tried to turn it around"

"I should have stayed for the slog"
To do what ??? Waste another 4 overs ??? In that case the total would have been 125 and the match would have been done by 14 overs... You didn't even have a clue against B'desh and Ireland bowling and who are you fooling Mr.Dhobi

Man of the match - Dhoni
by savio fdes on Jun 13, 2009 12:25 PM  | Hide replies

I would have given the MOM to Dhoni. His breathtaking knock of 11 of 23 balls made all the difference. Hats of to him.
