india's chances
by biswanath roy on Jun 14, 2009 12:50 PM  | Hide replies

definitely india can slip thru to the semi-finals provided dhoni sits out of india's remaining super 8 matches. it is his slow batting & unimaginative captaincy which let down india in the w.indies match.

Lucky and koshy,

I am not against Dhoni and certainly appreciate some of his leadership qualities.. but of late.. he has become more attitude and less performance.. certainly this is a worry for India.. dont you agree?

U also look a stupid dhobi fan who will praise him for nothing like NDTV.
Great like sachin & u idiot -start crying from top of the voice.
Dhobi strike rate in T-20 is 100.
Dhobi has not scored a single 50 in test overseas against quality bowling.
majority of oneday runs on flat pitches & not out innings inflate his average. Never come in pressure situtaion oto bat taking advantage of captaincy.
Has won very few matches on his own(that also during early days), a big manipulator & keep only his chamcha in team.
Please donot overhype hin for nothing & compare with greats.

WI deserved to win
by Jomesh George on Jun 14, 2009 11:28 AM  | Hide replies

Bravo played brilliantly. But overall it was a team effort from WI.Edwards bowled really well and got prize wickets.Simmons batted well and took a stunning catch.Bowling and fielding from WI side was very good and that reflected in the result. On the other hand India could have scored or defend 10 or 15 runs more and that would be the decisive factor. But we failed miserabley.Capt. Dhoni couldn't lead the team from the front and he was the main culprit scoring 11 off 23 balls and missing a run out chance.

So you want Dhoni to be superman and should be consistent 100% all the time.
India do not deserve player like Dhoni, Sachin, Sourabh, Dravid. All are abused whenever they go through with lean patch.

Grow up and respect our players.

Dhoni doesn't come in bracket of greats like sachin, dravid etc.
Everyone know how he started behaving with seniors after being a captain just because media was backing/hyping him.
U see how sangarkara give respect to Jaysurya.

Coach and Captain both has experience of playing tons of international Cricket. What experience do you have when suggesting this team?

Have you ever played any international tournament? Preaching, that's all you can do.

u don't have rights to said that,i am a cricketer(dist level player),if u want to win in T20 match,go and hit all the ball else return(out),here standing long innings partnership are not needed, down order batsman also having chance to score more than 150%strike rate, and u r saying only international cricketer should comment dhoni's performance, this is not good, all fans have rights to comment about players performance,

yes dhoni we will win we r practising together as a team!
by anna singh on Jun 14, 2009 11:09 AM

even our glorious captain defends the fact that 'team' india does not need to practice together to perform better! dont they realise that their lucrative ipl contracts r beacause of their performances playing for india! what does one expect with the comercialisation of cricket it's a blessed tamasha now not a sport and these monkeys are getting paid to look good not play well. wonder how does one have coffee and prepare for the next match. why practice at all yaar mr dhone. just select the team and off u guys go. your talent will guide you nah! all one needs to do is stay in the news & do commercials. sign all the endorse ments you can get ur hands on & fool the public. who never tire of idolising these materialistic players who forget the very essence of the game that gave them the fame & fortune they enjoy.

but what else can we do just watch the tamasha! anther match another tour another tournament! sigh!

Dhoni to be blamed
by rahid chilwan on Jun 14, 2009 10:45 AM  | Hide replies

dhoni is responsible for the loss of India v/s West Indies....Dhoni scored just 11runs of 23 balls ...It means he played 12 to 14 dot balls i.e near about 2 overs...What an Captain's innings it was!

dhoni dont bat da same way he used to.
11 frm 23 balls.
6 ovs 40 runs. n 11 ovs. 60 runs.
dhoni was batting in between these ovs.
dats where india lost da match.
dhoni certainly needs to reconsider his approach to his batting.
his match winning abilities have been reduced due to burden of captaincy as it had also happened wid ganguly.
dhoni should step aside from captaincy and concentrate more on batting n win india matches as he was doing for india b4 becoming captain of india.

Non-sense batting by Dhoni
by FRANCIS BATTA on Jun 14, 2009 10:39 AM  | Hide replies

In fact Dhoni is alone responsible for the failure of Chennai Super Kings semis, he played a worst batting through out the torney. As we he is continuing the same kind of Batting style.... He should understand that people are still looking him as a match finisher, he must act so.

IPL is to blame..
by ashish tiwari on Jun 14, 2009 07:00 AM

Scoring 6s and 4s against part time bowlers and fielders,,bowling out part time batsmen in IPL had made indian players slack and overconfident.

Now they are facing national sides in which all 11 players are one of the best..and India was kicked out of their dreamland by West Indies..Absence of Sehwag is also a big blow as we now only have Yuvraj and Yusuf who can score at a strikerate of 125 to 150. Rest all are suspects.
