The level of racism in the Lebanese groups in Australia seems significantly higher than in the population as a whole. This would also be consistent with racism against people from India and Pakistan from some parts of the Arab world (but *not* all - Omanis, Egyptians and Iraqis tend to be very decent and fairminded people). This could be another case of nonwhites (Lebanese) trying to be whiter-than-white by discriminating against other nonwhites. Shows an inferiority complex at work which says a lot also about their own social situation.
Media has taken a very tough stance on this issue of Indian students being attacked in Australia and has been instrumental in fanning lot of passion among us to create pressure on Australian government. But, after several hundred Indians been victims to terror attack our prime minister is all set to go and talk again with Pakistan. Primarily to please US. Will the same media pressurize PM from doing this again. It is amply clear that everytime India gets closer to Pakistan, Indian citizens are the ones who pay with their lives. The least we can do is not to talk with them but will the media pressurize the government.. My guess is it wont.. Reason is most of these media guyz are rich enough not to travel in buses or trains.. so they wont get hit by blasts but their kids will study in Australia so they are bothered about attacks there. Remember Indian life whether it is a student in Australia or a commuter in mumbai local should all be the same.

Media guys in India are rich? Metro-based folks in the profit-making among English publications might earn a median wage of INR 40-50K, but the regional media pays a pittance.

LOL: the India media is rich?
The city-based folks in the profit-making English publications might earn a media of INR 40-50K per month, but the regional media pays next to nothing.
In cricket, Australia and India have enjoyed a long history of great sportsmanship and camaraderie? ... Guess Gilly has forgot what had happened on cricket field between Aussie and Indian players ... It's a classic case of Selective Amnesia.
Its a ggod gesture by Gilli as a true sportsman. Afterall Australia is a developed country with good quality of education. We should try to stop attacks by some means(% of racial people very less) but not spoil relation with australia
