Irresponsible Media
by arumugam arunvijay on Jun 10, 2009 09:41 AM

Indian media is acting like the watchdog for Indian cricket. This unwanted controversy, created in the middle of a very important series should have certainly damaged the moral in the dressing room. The media is only interested in flashing the news in their news channels. They are not worried about the repurcussions that it would create. I feel that more than the loss of Sehwag, it is the lack of updates that is hurting the media. I also feel that the media has creatd a sense of feeling among the fans that the Sehwag issue is real. The media, instead of worrying about what is happening in the dressing room should concentrate on what is happening on the field. An early solution to the issue lies with Sehwag. He should come out to the media and clear the air. I hope, this issue does not affect the performance of the Indian cricket team on the field.

This indian media is all the best rubbish and irresponsible media of the world.the want to earn money by putting this false gossips of viru and dhoni as both are good friends from when dhoni joined the team till now.but yesterday times now and ndtv were showing tthat dhoni is wrong,if india wins dhoni is best and if he is in anger with media they put rubbish gossips about dhoni and create rift between people and him.but we people r not idiots to listen these stupid news channels. if sehwag is sent back then keep ur mouth shut and go and ask about the further plans and matches about the worldcup.why ask needless questions and irritate players.if india plays well also thr is problem. if doesnt also thr is problem by this nonsense and useless media.

Stupidity of Indian media
by brajesh anupam on Jun 10, 2009 09:25 AM  | Hide replies

I fail to understand why these media persons act so irresponsibly. They show their unprofessinal behaviour time and again and seek support from the gullible people. These people cant handle pressure and competition and blow matters out of proportion for no reasons and show that they have done a great job whereas it clearly shows their stupidity. Sometime I even feel like slapping these people who ask stupid questions. Looks like they are not trained properly in their profession. Rediff guys especially are at their highest level of stupidity. They dont even proofread the message before posting on the website.
God save innocent people.

Dhoni wants to ignore media when he faces some controversies like Sehwag or not going to collect an award given away by the President. He should ignore media even after he wins matches and everything is going goody goody. He can't have his cake and eat it too.

This so called media who has problems with Dhoni is just 1 news paper. This news paper is all about money and no "National" feeling. It proudly publish the columns of Aussies who are famous for "War of words". If Indian team is playing T-20 world cup, you should not trouble them and let them concentrate over the game. But well this news paper has a british origin so they will not feel anything about "national pride", for them it's just more sale of their news paper. It's all about money for these people.

Shameful Media coverage
by Giridharan Ramamoorthy on Jun 10, 2009 09:23 AM  | Hide replies

This highlights the point that Indian journalism requires professionalism not sensationalism.. I am not sure this how a country's media supports their own country's team playing in world cup. Just to make their own daily meal (i mean the media folks) they go about cooking stories and make the ppl believe it.. If there is a rift between Dhoni and Sehwag what is the issue??.. I dont think it has impacted their play so far as a team.. Also, if i can think of a analogy it is like "in a family brothers do fight.. but they stay together as a family.. Any outsider wants to gossip about it pls go ahead and do it.. But poke your nose too far inside u r likely to be snubbed (which is what has happ with media here). "

In this issue i am not saying whether Dhoni is right or wrong.. Let's see the perspectives.. If there is rift or anything of that sort between Dhoni and Sehwag it has not impacted their game so far.. so where is the issue??Infact, Don't we see this in every sports team (across countries).. When you have strong personalities playing the game as a team they will have difference of opinion. Remember Kapil-Gavaskar .. Imran khan-Javed miandad issues .. This is not only with cricket it is in the other sport sides too.. But i guess they are professionals enough to manage these opinions or so-called rifts. So Mr.Journalist dont try to sensationalize something to show in your TV channel or paper. Instead support the team and better go back to school to learn sports jouranlism.

well said. i agree. these journalists will sell their own mothers for a bit of sensationalism. that being the case, how will it matter to them if they upset the indian team during the middle of an important tournament?

Dhoni and the media
by Ravi Shankar on Jun 10, 2009 09:14 AM  | Hide replies

Hey lets put this in proper perspective. Its only because of the media that cricket and the players are what they are. When you are a star you need to know how to handle the pressures of the media. If, Dhoni feels thisis a cut and dried affair..hey why cant he handle it that way. If he is not going to say something as important as Sehwag being sent back with an injury, then why meet the media ??? Yes, when there is something that doesnt seem very right, the media has all the right to ask questions...its upto the BCCI and Dhoni to know how to handle those questions..why should you loose your cool ... Mr Cool ??? Now lets grow up and learn to handle these pressures..its after all the media that has made you and cricket what it is...even if it is such a silly version of a great game.

Remember, Dhoni has a contract with BCCI. He is not free to air his views. Also, looks like Dhoni did not want to take a chance with Viru. BCCI and Viru took the chance. Now, Dhoni is trying to be as diplomatic so as to not say anything that will create further controversy. Media should ask Viru - why he did not opt out on his own for the sake of the country and giving others a chance if he is not fit. I am sure Dhoni will do it. Media should be after BCCI asking them why they allowed Viru to go if they knew he was injured. I am sure Dhoni has asked these questions in the BCCI & Team Management meeting, however he cannot say anything to the media.

TV Media trying to play with Cricket Fans Emotions for TRP
by aam desi on Jun 10, 2009 09:09 AM

First on this channel, we told so attitude of the media is forcing them to cover insignificant issues and blow it out of proportion. Breaking New has not become false sensationalism. One Channel Starts it and all the others follow. With regards to Dhoni - they should realize that he cannot provide true answers awkward questions without offending the parties concerned BCCI, Sehwag and he has maintained dignified silence. However, media is provoking him and trying to de-focus him from winning T20 World Cup to consequences if India lose and what a great media hound he will be subjected to following India's loss. Well, we win some and we loose some in Cricket. Media persons covering cricket is full of loosers.

Show some respect !
by Nash Rocks on Jun 10, 2009 09:08 AM

Indian media is literally behaving like mad dogs. The hunger for news has gone to that level where Media is fabricating news to sustain/increase viewership.

If media is not able to contribute to good cause of cricket or any sport for that matter they should SHUT UP rather than create news out of no where.

Dhoni is the man who has taken Indian cricket to a notch higher .. Show some respect to him. Why are you distracting him with unnecessary issues?
