BCCI should be ruled by Ex-cricketers like Kapil who really sacrifice their life for cricket!
Unfortunately it is ruled by Politicians.
Finally when BCCI and ICL will join,
When Congress and NDA joins,
When Ram and Allah united!

Sacrifice their lives ??? No one sacrifices their lives for cricket ..They play for their passion, make money , and later retire.
The people who really sacrifice their lives for our country are the brave jawans serving on our borders !

Yes.. this guy RatishRaveendran was in the ICL.. I have seen him. He was the housekeeper in charge of all the toilets frequented by female audiances... He was the housekeeper there and the girls really treated him as slave and so thsi is his problem.. incidently, IPL is NOT taking the housekeepers of ICL.hence you would not find his name in the list...

What are these intelligent people still doing in ICL? Dinesh Mongia may play for KXIP. Rohan Gavaskar for KKR. Hemag Badani for CSK. Shane Bond is a good buy for any franchise. Not sure whether he has broken ties with ICL.

BCCI is a private organization not a Govt. Body. When our stars like Sachin,Pathan,Sahwag,Dhoni play they play for BCCI not for India. Its Board for Collecting Countrymen's Income not concerned about the country. BCCI is the richest sports organization in the world. It will dictate its terms & conditions & not allow any other organization to take benefit from the game. BCCI provides everything to stars but does nothing for training & development of youngesters. Also they will not allow anybody else to do it. There should be some other organizations in Cricket for better competetion.

Oye.. Its a private organisation managed by group of indviduals(Trustees) under non-profit organsiation law. Its not Govt, doest mean its not India. BCCI is nothing to do with Govt. I is acting as per the rules of ICC.

IS ICL doing any development, There was no cricket for these playesrs from past 8 months, no pay checks. Do you think Dhoni came to cricket without support of BCCI, do you think shewag is playing for India without the support of BCCI, yound guys comming from unheard of towns in India, are they comming with out BCCI support. People like you just want to criticize nothing else. These young crickter got lured by ICL for the sake of money and thinking that they would go places with ICL, but ICL never took off it was used by Kapil to try and pressurize BCCI for his benfits. ICL wanted break up players but it did not happen. Its good players like JhunJunwala and Raydu are back to BCCI for their own good.

Is the gully cricket that people play approved by ICC or BCCI ? Or for that matter 1000s of tournaments held across India ? Remember every prosepective Tendulkar or Kapil started from a narrow gully. So does it mean that anyone who played gully cricket or non-BCCI/non-ICC approved tournament be banned from playing for the country ? Any real sports loving/encouraging organization will search for true talent, not the source of it. Never find out the origin of a river, they say.. So is not BCCI indulging in politics and business by killing other leagues like ICL..?

How do you know Ahmedabad ADAG team will be the new addtion from 2011 onwards??

I heard that there is a plan to have a Kanpur or Lucknow franchise.....and guys like Dhoni, Raina, Praveen Kumar will play for that Kanpur franchise.....

And one more thing, 2 new teams will be added only from 2011.............

Remember, most of the player say its not about quality of the cricket or money, its about quantity of the cricket which they are deprived with.

Plus there is a one year cooling off period for them......so, the IPL will change drmatically from 2011 onwards...we may have 8 teams, 5 foreign players per franchise, round robin matches in 2 groups, third place playoff etc....lots of changes!!!!

yes u r rite. Cos 2010 will be the last year for the player to complete the 3 year contract. Afterwards new contracts. In 2011 a lot of this will change about IPL, teams, players, numbers... etc... lets see..

Man Cricket in India is rocking and its going to only get better if we can avoid mumbai attacks

Yeah, all new contracts and most probably a nice sendoff for all of India old guards like Rahul, VVS, Sachin, Anil, Sourav and Sehwag.....i don't think their contracts will be extended or they will get new contracts!!

Next year might also be the last time we will see Shane Warne, gilly, McGrath, Hayden etc...even there contracts won't be renewed!!

Then that will make it 9 teams...cos Ahmedabad and Kanpur/Lucknow franchise addition is almost a formality.......

I would personally like to see an Indore/Gwalior franchise too...their contribution to cricket has been quite healthy!!

mrtp act on BCCI ??
by vinay kamtikar on Jun 02, 2009 05:47 PM  | Hide replies

ICL is a league like any other league.

BCCI should be prosecuted under MRTP act for treating the ICL and their associates like they did ; and getting away with it !!!

Re: mrtp act on BCCI ??

You can put BCCI in MRTP cos its a governing body which is non-profit. To be eligble under MRTP it shd be a profit organisation. Its a body which promote a sport, what ever the body takes the decision for that spot is mostly considered right, unless challenged in the court and win. And you know IPC..
