BCCI Highhandedness
by ramesh kumar on Jun 02, 2009 07:22 PM  | Hide replies

Down with Pawar and his cronies running BCCI.

Arrogance does not pay in the long run.

Wadekar, Prasanna, shame on you.

Kapil & More: you don't buckle.

ICL may not survive. At least your integrity will.

Very well stated. We,Indians, dont seem to have self respect. Look at the whole retired bunch succumbing to the unethical pressure for a few more coins in life.

Well said. Actually the players of IPL are like puppets and their control is in the hands of some Jokers (Boards' ,members). Still they believed that they are playing for India. What a Joke. They play for their Masters as they wish them to play. So Indian Govt. must ban them to use the nation's logo, as jokers should not be allowed to send their puppets to play in the name of Great India.

ICL Depletion
by MUKUL GARG on Jun 02, 2009 07:21 PM

BCCI really felt threatened by launch of ICL and it immediately started applying all dirty tricks to destroy ICL. The arrogance of BCCI was visible everywhere. It had even bullied other countries cricket associations to have its way. If things seem to be moving in favour of BCCI, it is certainly not for any reason or rationale but for sheer coercion, threat, manipulation and strong-arm tactics. These things do not last long.

Cooling off...?
by Proloy Coomar Pramanik on Jun 02, 2009 07:16 PM

Have these players got infected with a disease or what by playing in ICL? Why do they have to cool off for one year before they can play for India? All nonsense.

They should be picked whenever they prove themselves to be good enough to merit a place.

I feel sorry
by Cutlet Gravy on Jun 02, 2009 07:04 PM  | Hide replies

I feel sorry that Shard Power and Gang have shrewdly wiped out all competion right under the very nose of the Monopolies and Restrictive Trade Practices Commission and made a mockery of it.

Worse than having broken the back of the spirit of competition and freedom of choice is the fact that young players were caught by their what-nots and squeezed so hard that they almost stopped breathing while veterens like Kapil Dev and former Test stumper and ex-chief selector Kiran More were made to feel look-face-don't-laugh caricatures of their real selves.

And all this while -- sorry to scrub it in -- Subash Chandra's grey streak grew greyer day-by-day-by...

Dogmatic behaviour
by Ajittd Nair on Jun 02, 2009 07:02 PM

BCCI being rich has just been too dogmatic and arrogant while dealing with the ICL. ELSE having matches with IPL and ICL would have been a good idea. There was no need to scrap ICL or ban ICL

...ICL? Other than coaches and physios and team owners..they need to start playing among themselves or hire cricketers from public. I'm sure we can beat the crappy indian team.

How about IFL
by Sunil Kumar on Jun 02, 2009 06:54 PM  | Hide replies

I suggest that Subhash Chandra start "Indian Football League" and "Indian Hockey League". I guess they will ignite the fire in the belly of the Indian hockey board and they will start a competitor for Subhash Chandra's group, "Indian Premier Hockey League." Anyway, it was Subhash Chandra's initiative that led to the Indian Premier Leage and I feel the cricket players should be indebted to him for his intiative...

Thank you "Subhash Chandra". I hope you come with some more good ideas and help in people earn their livelihood. You came down but you made winners of the layman and the talented.
