No complaints from Kapil , Akram,Imran,Hadlee
by Venkatesh Ramaswamy on Jul 27, 2009 12:20 PM

We never heard of similiar complaints from cricketers like Kapil Dev , Richard Hadlee , Imran Khan , Wasim Akram , Walsh who bowled years together as frontline bowlers for their respective countries .They were in a class totally above Flintoff or Brett Lee or Shaun Tait or Harmison . The flintoffs , harmisons would be class 2 bowlers compared to Ian boatham , Richard Hadlee , Imran Khan or Kapil Dev or Walsh or Holding for that matter .

new rule for governing ipl
by dudeman on Jul 27, 2009 09:14 AM  | Hide replies

new rule must be made saying those playing in test cricket for their country can only participate in ipl.
this new rule is for foreign players only, since in india even local players play in ipl.

Newzealand players want IPL and not their own country matches. Vettori has clearly said its IPL's money that they cant ignore. Flintoff getting some 1.5 million dollars will want it than the few thoundard dollars he gets from playing tests.

What Freddie gets in IPL is equivalent for his money he gets in 2 or 3 years playing cricket.

Oh yeah? Who do you think that money is for? Not for his family?

Flintoff just is leaving one job to move on to another. If we like his prior job better, he cant do much. He did have his share of injuries. If he wants to retire after 4 surgeries, why are you trying to portay it as a bad thing? Is it so wrong for him to make some money for himself, in his last 4 years of playing life?

Blaming IPL is stupid. What do you want from Flintoff? He should get injured over and over again, (latest reports suggest he might need a artificial knee replacement if another injury takes place) ... Sure he has IPL money to make and take care of his finances. But if cricket has to survive in the next century, even test cricket should become a viable professional sport. What haunts test cricket is the time wasting, official nonsense, placid pitches, and terrible planning of tours...

I do agree with Jason and Aditya!
I think some are just born to criticize others whatever they do. Everybody knows about his fitnes from last two-three years. He already has had four different operations. And the talk about earning money, don't you change your job for better money and position? We all do the same. Then why blame sportsperson?

Test match will have a natural death. This is the starting stage. Nobody wants to play for 5 days continuously as they can have handsom money while playing in tournments like IPL. In order to arrest this natrural death of Test Cricket, a concreate stop should be taken on war-footing.
