Money is one of the biggest driving force for players to choose between Tests and T20. In future we can see more players choosing the path of Flintoff, Symonds, etc. Many more players will take early retirement from Tests in future. Unless otherwise any substantial improvements are not implemented in Tests, all these talks will seem to be gimmicks. Practically Tests may survive without quality players in future. Money, Boring draws, slow-over rates may be the other factors which will kill Tests. Wake ICC before it is too late.
Hahahha, nice joke pieterson. You are unable to play a test match that you r a dead rat, now you comment on the life of test match. What a pathetic loser you are!!!
1. Reduce the list of current test playing nations. Instead of having a static list of test playing nations, make it dynamic - the top 6 teams from ICC Test Rankings should be eligible to play next year. Also the 2 top ranked teams from non test playing nations can play test next year
2. Start an ICC committee that will monitor pitch conditions for test matches. Penalize the host country for poor 'batsman's paradise' wickets that produce boring draws. Ban the host country from playing test cricket next year if more than 2 such violations are found in a single calendar year.
3. If a test match ends in a draw, then award points to the side who has managed to bowl out opponent twice. If no side has managed to bowl out opponent twice, then award points to the side having first innings lead
4. Scrap dead rubber tests. For example, in the current Ashes series if England wins the 3rd test, then scrap the 4th test and declare England as series winner because of 2-0 lead in first 3 tests.

First two pints are valid. Third point is totally invalid, since in a Drawn match only team bowling second cam bowl out twice the opponenet. If Team batting first bowl out opponent twice means they have won the match or at max Tie. Test matches should not be scraped even rubber tests. Pitch preparation, ticket selling, security arrangements, and other things will be done in advance before the series decider match. Beside that even after losing test series there is great honour for winning test match.
Re: Bring Guvvy back - Gavaskar is test king

Fastest Test Century by an Indian opener => Sehwag from 93 deliveries against Pak in a dead pitch at Gaddafi Stadium, whose record did he break? Gavaskar's who scored a century from 94 deliveries against the pace battery of Marshall, Holding, Davis and Daniel, and scoring the same without a helmet.
In this fast paced world a 5 day test match is out of place. Nobody has the time even to spare for ODI's leave alone tests. T20 is the right format in such a scenario. Tests may not last even 5 years now.

t-20 is the right way to promote cricket.Look at the time of other sports they r hardly 2 hours spend on other sports & test cricket takes whole 5 days & then too u r not sure of a result.

Not really. Tests will remain the real challenge for all serious cricketers. Business minded ICC / BCCI may spoil it by first making it 4 days, then 3 days and eventually remove it. All 3 formats have their own challenges. T20 will always be enntertaining, and most non-Test playing countries can easily challenge Test playing countries in T20. Countries like China, Brazil, Russia may become strong teams.
After seeing T20 for the last 2 years and having had time to get over the initial euphoria I have come to these opinions:
1) I don't really like T20 that much, I will watch it but it does not do much for me. It seems to be a bit like a lottery ... you take a wild shot and it may pan out. 2) My favourite format is 50 overs but I do agree that a few modifications need to be made to spice it up a bit especially during the middle overs were it tends to get tedious ... I don't think the answer is to reduce the number of overs. 3) Test Cricket is format I still enjoy and I wish it would stay in it's current form for many years to come. But there is so much noise around T20 that some of that is bound to rub off on test cricket
The series must be reduce to 1 - 2 matches. So that players remain feet and concentrate on their game. Only test matches gives the broader vision to player and his potentials.
All true Cricket lovers like Test cricket along with T20 and ODI, i hope may be in future there will be only test cricket and T20, T20 is a threat to ODI and not to Test match,to be good Test match player you need concentration, perseverance and lot of character and even after 5 days of toiling u might end in draw or loss but still u need sportsmanship to face it . I f somebody interested in only T20 they do not know the diff between a 150 mins masala movie and cricket they are not cricket fans. To be literal its like having a quicky without foreplay( u need some artistic skill and love to do that)

sorry to hurt u , but there will always be fans of test cricket. the quicker version may be for the masses but the longer version like tests is immensely liked by the classes as it tests the opposition in all things. Did u ever realise that to win a test match , one has to bowl out the opposition 2 times and take twenty wickets. the shorter versions are incomplete becoz we still get results even if the team is not fully bowled out. hope u get the point. good luck.
