Restrict Test Cricket only between top 5 teams.
by jeevan on Jul 23, 2009 12:33 PM

That way, you are sending a message that all dom, dick and harry cant play Test Cricket..
The Criteria of being the Top 4 teams, will be decided by a one Month Test Championship, wherein all the Nations can play in a knockout fashion (like Wimbledon) to decide the top 5 teams.

In future,we should more importance only to T20 cricket, but the sad thing about T20 is you can't predict. But, still batsman and bowler point of view test cricket and one day cricket should continue, but not long like the ashes for eg. 5 test matches, it should reduced to 3 maximum, and one day internationals should not exceed 5 maximum.

Reduce Test Cricket
by dhruv purohit on Jul 23, 2009 12:25 PM  | Hide replies

Hi all.I firmly believe Test Cricket is the most pure and elegant form of Cricket. The beauty of Test Cricket is not comparable. But in this current generation with the growing poppularity of Twenty20 Cricket we must save Test Cricket in a wise manner.I would like few Test Matches being played during the entire year so the interest among the people is kept alive.

Whether test cricket would survive or not depends on how it is played by the concerned players. Sure, it is a test of temparament, skill, patience but at the end of the day an audience wants entertainment which one can't wish it away. Who would like to watch a team scoring 240 runs in a day? Just look at the way the aussies played their cricket when they had gilly, hayden, martin, langer etc. They would invariably score well over 330 runs every day and yet went on to win matches and entertained the crowd. If cricket is played the way it is played, u wd have spectators flocking to the grounds.
