there are lot of West Indian Patels working in New Jersey. They are all Hindus too. One such lady works in a New Jersey laundramat. Her name is Neat Patel, original Neetu Patel :)

Kallicharan, Rohan kanhai, Shivnaraine, S. Chanderpaul, Nagamoothoo, R Sarvan, Ravi Rampaul, Rajindra Dhanaraj etc., who played for WI have Indian connections. British took Indians to West Indies, South Africa, Fiji, Srilanka, Malyasia to work in Sugarcane fields.

Majority of the indians were taken from south india since SI were advance in sugarcane plantations. After getting the sugarcane plantations done, the british made rum for the whole world.
