J.Miandad what you say now?
by Anurag Rathore on Jul 07, 2009 03:35 PM  | Hide replies

J.Miandad was claiming 2 days ago Indian youngsters don't have power. He was thinking his side in world champion. Now when India has beaten WI with their half strength side and Pak has lost to Srilanka(Without Murali and Malinga) I would like to hear his statement.

This is same Miandad who were claiming in 2003 that Irfan like players are avaailable in each Pak streets. But refused his statements when India thrashed them in their own yard.

People who were criticizing India for lost in T-20 WC should see their World champion pak couldn't beat half strength team of Srilanka(Without Murali and Malinga). It has again proven T-20 is not a criteria to judge a team strength.

MS Dhoni: From style icon to youth icon
by Anurag Rathore on Jul 07, 2009 02:30 PM  | Hide replies

Today, July 7, skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni turns 28. MSD (as he is fondly called by his fans), has time and again demonstrated that he thinks way beyond his age.

He has charisma. He is a 'beacon of hope' for small towners. Dhoni doesn't shy away from accepting mistakes and learning from them. Something that the young India wants to see in its new-age leaders.

A Greek God in looks, he is not. Doesn't belong to any multi-millionaire family. Isn't a political scion for that matter. He doesn't qualify to be successful on the above parameters. Instead, what you get in Dhoni are average looks, a middle class background, and a small town identity. Yet the man has made it big, all on his own. Quickly, but quietly, he has made his way into the big league.

We should restrict our discussion to cricket only & criteria should be cricketing talent only.
For god sake donot bring region/religion/caste/town/village/background etc in discussion. It shows our biased, unprofessional & emotional remarks. Even greatest sachin was from middle class background. It doesn't matter wherther he belongs to small town or big town. Even after 20 yrs of success, sachin has not changed but player like dhoni & few new players started behaving arrogantly after instant success. Thats the difference between sachin & dhoni.
Dhoni even started criticizing great seniors just after little success.

He is a most useless & political player India ever produced.
Made by media hype & biased fans.
His record in Test match against quality bowling, strike rate in T-20,wicket keeping in all format of game is pathetic & doesn't deserve even a place in team.ODI record is ok by manipulation-Take advantage of captaincy & always choose non pressure situation to bat.Inflated average in ODI because of manipulation, more score against weak bowling, most of not out inning.
His recoginization is always more than what he deserve.
Any captain is as good as his team & captaincy doesn't play more than 1% role in cricket win. Its just hyped by media & biased fans. See even ponting the same captaion but Aus start loosing match now days as they lost some great cricketers. Its very clear great players like sachin, sehwag, lara, gayle, Gilly, hyden, kumble, warne win matches & not the captain.
One thing MSD excellent- Politics & manipulation ,keep his chamcha like RP/raina etc always in team whether they perform or not.

Dhoni is living on past glory. He has totally lost his ability to score fast consistently. He can no longer play lofted shots. His performance in 3 rd ODI was an exception. It was like occasionally Habhajan scoring a fast fifty.Look at Dhoni in 20-20. poor wicketkeeping . he missed simple runout of Bravo andWI won because of that.he scored 11 runs of 23 balls and some 5 runs off 11 balls. Against England ,India needed 18 runs from last 5 balls with Dhoni on strike.what does this overhyped player do ? plays theball all along ground for a single. He did not even attempt a 4 or 6.Such a person does not even deserve a place in the team.

Thats why India win last t-20 worldcup. total by fluke.
But see dhoni test match record, wicketkeeping & also ODI score on SA/Aus/Eng pitches against good bowling- Its pathetic.
I fail to understand how he get place in team. Its totally political.

U prevert Kool dude,
Indian team winning 60% match & not ur relative dhobi.
Even in ganguly/Dravid/kumble captaincy ,India was winning matches. All match win due to some greats like sachin, sehwag, dravid, laxman, kumble, zaheer etc & not politics of dhobi who just know how to make big speech & take credits of others performance.

friends, what deepak deshpande is saying is correct to some extent, especially when we view the 20 - 20 Match which India lost under the cirmustances which Mr Desphande has briefed above...so he is correct so very good extent as far as that matchis concerned....but that is not the end of the day or end of the world.......and hence let us not underwrite Dhoni so quickly ....he had the potential and he would show it again in the years to come...let us hope for the best...But Dhoni's batting/ stroking style is not at all good....that is quite hurting....rest is ok...
good day friends

Fu(k of with ur insane comments..
I will take all of the above if India has a record of 62% victory in ODI,70% in tests and a T20 world cup...get over ur regional biases...no Indian captain has given so much success over such a long period of time!

Indian captain doesn't win the match but the team players win matches.
Donot overhype captaincy for Indian wins. Even ponting can't win matches once he lost all his great players.
U keep ur regional biasing out of this forum & get lost before using any bad word.
