Dhoni-Managing Captaincy,Wicket Keeping & Batting on par
by km vb on Feb 01, 2009 02:56 PM  | Hide replies

A far better than players like Sachin.Sachin played his part to build his individual runs by playing more no. of years/tests/ODI but whereas Dhoni with only a year he was recognised and now leading from front and proving the world he is the best in short span of play beating those who played their life for cricket but their play is not even on par with DHONI.
DHONI is NO.1 and a GREAT to all.

At this stage of his cricketing career Sachin still has to prove his capabilities???its shameful for people who doubt on his efficiency. I agree with Mr. Debashish, Sachin has done alot for Indian cricket. not even Sachin players like Sourav, Rahul n many others hav contributed to make a succesfull team India, they hav played vital innings & really people are forgetting this. I admitt Dhoni is one of the best captians n a gud player too. but he still hav to go many long distance. I am with u Sachin.

Dhoni is an icon to the youth.
by rajendra rao on Feb 01, 2009 11:18 AM  | Hide replies

Dhoni has done all india proud, especially those who chase there dreams. There are people, who want to bring him down, as they think that big cities only can produce big players.
Its the determination and mental strength, that has built dhoni over pas couple of years, and the number of matches he has won shows how much well he moves in and around his team.
He has become the central focus for the media, women and all glittering eyes who one day wants to become like him, yet he has kept his feet grounded firmly.
He gave chances to the youngsters and believed in them. And this belief has yielded so many fond memories in the minds of true cricket lovers.
His batting average in ODI can make so many so-called-great batsmen shy. Test is a fort which ,i admit, he has to conquer, but none the less, he has proved that he is a good captain in test arena too.
20 years down the line, no one is going to ask about the technique that dhoni had for batting, but the number of matches he won and runs he scored.
Dhoni has a remarkable cricekting career , and shows the demeanor of his coolness between the ears.
All praises from the cricket fraternity is worth something, be it Gawaskar, Sachin, Ganguly, jadeja, Siddhu or Sobers, ......list can go on.
So please appreciate as what he has done to indian cricket.
He is one of those cricketers, which no true indian would like to lose, just because he is from a state which is not highly regarded.
Kudos to Dhoni again for his performance in Srilanka.

He is 27!!!! he is very soon going to be 30!!! but yet he hasn't finished his studies!!! what kind of an icon is he??? I heard that he skipped his studies!! that is not very good u know!! studies are very important!! i agree he is a well established cricketer with loads of money but that doesn't mean he has to leave his studies!!!!!!!!!! he needs to understand the value of education if he has to be a youth icon!!!!! no offense but that's what i feel!! I would love to see dhoni prosper even more in life but to do so he has to study!! i hope u guys will understand!!! there are many players who didn't play matches in order to give their exams!!!! like Shakib al hasan from Bangladesh!! he didn't play in the Asia cup last year although he was in amazing form because he had to give his exams and now look where he is standing!!!!! He is number 1 in all rounder ranking as well as number 6 in the bowler ranking!!!! now that's wat u call a youth icon!!! not that dhoni isn't good!! personally i feel he is one of the best but the fact that he didn't finish his studies really makes me sad! i hope him all the best for his future and really hoping that he'll finish his studies!!!
ALL THE BEST DHONI!!!

He did completed his 2. He has enrolled to the college for his higher education. But we know dhoni for his batting, not as an IAS officer I presume.
There had been many school drop outs...like Bill gates and Steve Jobs.
Yet they have rewritten the concept of success. A higher education does not guarantee that a man is civilized enough to be an icon.
Neither did ICC asked dhoni, as if he has acquired MBBS degree before he can be No. 1.
The point is ,anybody can be icon. If you serve your country ,you are an icon. Don't bother much on the over priced education anymore and ask yourself if what you have asked is right or wrong.

i don't have to!! like the example i gave, u can be both educated and can also achieve great things!!! plus i did say he is good!!! education adds to the plus points he has!! any way it's not hurting me if he doesn't finish his studies!!! it's his problem not mine!! If he hadn't dropped out, his studies would have been over by now!!! plus i never said he was uncivilized!! he is most definitely civilized !!! BTW did ICC ask Shakib whether he had passed his exams b4 he could be no.1 alrounder!!! no !!!then why did he waste his time when he could be playing in the asia cup??
because when he knew he had got good marks and passed, it was he who felt good!! and was satisfied with himself!!! life's not about earning big bucks and buying expensive cars and bikes!!!!! nor about whether u are famous or not!!!! it's about how u live it!! do u think someone who is not famous doesn't have a life or can't be an icon!!! Education also adds to the achievements!!! i want dhoni to achieve more!! i want him to do even better, not only in cricket but in whatever he does!!! That's why i said he should finish his studies!!! I said what i felt!!! i like dhoni and would love to see him prosper!!

We agree to your statement.
His batting average in ODI can make so many so-called-great batsmen shy.
Sachin must be feeling very shy to stay in between youngster when he fail to score in each inninigs.

Sachin is far beyond the limits of greatness mate. He is not only an icon, but god to the cricketing audience.
Dhoni is amazing, but not at the cost of Sachin.

And he is number one in skipping domestic series as well. Mr. Dhoni, keep in mind once your curve start falling due to age factor or others, these kind of your actions will play a key roles demanding your quitting from International arena!

Yes, indeed.Let us banish him and bring in Dinesh Karthik. Dhoni has broken so many hearts. I do not uderstand why the BCCI is selecting such a boorish and junglee person in the team. Should we not have sophisticated persons like Karthik in the team in his place even if that means losing matches after matches.?

well if he is good at subcontinent only then he can't be No.1!!!No.1 is someone who is good at every thing that they do irrespective of the time, place and condition!!!!they have to be able to adjust!!!!! so i disagree that Dhoni is number 1!! it's my oppinion!!! u can have a different view!!!it's up to u!

Dhoni level headed chap

Good to see Dhoni topping the ranking but Dhone himself said he dows not beleive in the number game and prefers play well and win the matches.I must say he is unassuming and believes that he should let his game talk.
It is surprising not many stalwarts have figured in the top ten. While I would back our players to the hilt but we should not get into hyperbole while assessing their winning capabilities particularly out side the country .If we play well no 1 is ours I wish the Indian team focuss the job on hand and not carried away by the journalistic hype .WE will enjoy a good game winning or loosing.
The gratest one day international played between Australia and S.Africa chasing 400 plus still fresh in my mind .
