not relying on individuals
by ADThoughts on Jan 31, 2009 11:58 AM

Great statement from Dhoni "not relying on individuals but is working as a unit" and very glad to know that there is no talk/reliance on Sachin/Yuvi or Zaheer. All the best !!!

Unfortunate Gambhir
by f f on Jan 31, 2009 11:02 AM

Gambhir may have to shift again to No.3

Somebody should sort this issue. Otherwise it may spoil his career and India may lose an important player which we found after a long time (or first time?). Mind you he is more important opening batsmen for Indian than even Sehwag.

TEAM INDIA
by arun khanna on Jan 31, 2009 12:31 AM

IT MAKES SENSE TO BRING IN JADEJA THE ALL ROUNDER IN PLACE OF OJHA AND IRFAN PATHAN IN PLACE OF MUNAF PATEL ANOTHER ALL ROUNDER WHICH WILL INCREASE THE BATTING OPTIONS FOR INDIA TO DOUBLE THEIR LEAD IN THE SERIES. IT MAKES GOOD THINKING TO EFFECT THESE CHANGES.

WE WILL THEN BE BATTING TILL NUMBER 11.

What a loss to India. Then Bedi would have kept his mouth shut if Murali had played for India.

mgrshivajirajni is saying why K. Srikkanth did not select Balaji, Badrinath, M. Vijai, Mukund, Dinesh Karthik and M. Suresh, all from Tamil Nadu to be in India team?

You are dead right!

This should be the team:

Gambhir
Sehwag
Raina
Yuvaraj
Dhoni
Ravindra
Yousuf
Irfan (as he is in squad, otherwise any other aggressive seamer like Goni, Dinda... But I also want Irfi to understand his talent)
Praveen
Zaheer
Ishanth

But Tendulkar will not agree to bat at No.4 you know! Also Munaf doesn't threaten on these flat tracks. Irfi can at least try some off-cutters and slower ones. Anyhow its high time India grooms some aggressive hit-the-deck bowlers like Goni, Dinda, etc. Zaheer got stabilized today because of this quality only. Ishanth also proved so early because of this. Unfortunately Irfi kind of bowlers are not lasting long enough on today's flat wickets and aggressive stroke-players.

Yes Sreeshanth is that kind of bowler (has pace). But he doesn't have a stable mind. That's the problem. He thinks like a 5 year old.

I woul rather have Sachin at 3 and Raina at 4. Also R.Jadeia instead of Munaf would add strength to batting and variety to bowling
