Murali is after all a spinner
by vsgiri on Jan 22, 2009 05:09 PM

People talk more of Murali. They should know that after all he is a wrist spinner. He is bowling overarm and covers 22 yards. Onev should not grduge or complain just because of our inability to produce a spinner like Murali. South is South and have always produced the best. I need not name

Chucking in test cricket
by sanjoy satpathy on Jan 21, 2009 10:00 PM  | Hide replies

Thanks to BCCI money power with moral support of Srilanka and Pakistan lots of bowlers are coming out with chucking action.People like Gavasker who as at the helm of affairs in ICC too did not open his mouth on Murali!! We need people like Daren Hair and Bisen Bedi for the ICC to stop this nuisance.

muralitharan also many believe chucks the ball but the sri lankan board is solidly behind him.if no umpire has called him for chucking then what pain in the neck the indian board is having.or they have some favourites of their own whom they want to promote.

Without doubt, Murali is a 'thrower' who is successful in test cricket. He has been questioned, but he has been solidly backed by SriLankan cricket and so he still survives with that action.
Any one who has seen his action in 1992 - 93 during the Australian tour would find his action not so much of a 'thrower'. He has subsequently perfected his 'throwing' and has taken 700 wickets!!
Let us not make Parmar another Muralidharan as far as action is concerned. let him take 700 wickets and let us wish him the best.
On the other hand, Ajantha Mendis bowls with a clean action and spins the ball well.

sri lanka ckt board is doing very well of defending their players in icc. v r lacking in this skill n v r the losers in ckt world as v r the most sufferers of biased icc.
icc can ask shoaib akhtar, but not bret lee. y so much partiality.
