ITS OF THE WHITES, BY THE WHITES, FOR THE WHITES. ONLY WAY THAT THEY CAN HOLD ON TO THEIR NOTIONS OF SUPREMACY. ON THE FIEKD THEY ARE GETTING KICKED. EVERYBODY KNOWS WHAT A RACIST ORGANISATION THE ICC IS. LET US NOT GET ALL TIED UP IN OUR PAJAMAS BECASUSE OF THIS. WE ALL KNOW HOW GREAT OR NOT SO GREAT SOME OF THE GUYS ON THE LIST ARE OR ARE NOT.
This ICC ranking has been on their website for years. Only now some media guy has found this.Suddenly he has gone crazy and everyone in India has gone crazy. No other country is giving a damn about this ranking. Why are we Indians making a fool of ourselves by reacting like 5 year old kid.

Gentlemen, First of all, does any one of you have ever played at least club cricket? Sachin is the most humble and self less cricketer you can find. A player like Don bradman said that sachin bats exactly like him. Lara says that sachin is the best there is after bradman. Shane warne, Wasim, Viv Richards(made a statement that Sachin is 99.95% perfect.), Mcgrath, Steve Waugh, Micheal Autherton, Berry Richards, Sunil Gavaskar and the list of all whom think that Sachin is the Best ever after Gavaskar goes on and on and on. All these players have given their best years to cricket and are all extremely talented, have sound knowledge of cricket and have been around for years and MOST IMPORTANTLY HAVE PLAYED CRICKET AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL!!!!!
How many ICC members understand the game as good as any one of them???
Second thing is that here we are talking about players efforts on the field, so please be more sensible and stop making comments like "Sachin has Ego, he is Selfish", as you people are his friends and know him since 30 years.
Sachin, no doubt, is an excellent player. But he is too selfish and has tons of ego. It had been observed whenever his performance was poor and there were screamings of dropping him, he scores a ton. The same with Lara too. Probably this would have costed both the cricket supermen their place in the ranking.
As on today the parameters for judging performance have changed.Ultimately what matters is how effective were your runs scored towards the result( whether it helped to win or save defeat).Just pile of runs is no measure for someone to be big.We know one time 3 top batsman were in indian team and india was losing most of the match.I feel this way of looking at the things will help our cricketers and us to see the things transparently.Let us not make Sachin a superman, his record also will be shattered by someone.

Please note that Sachin batted lower down in the order in the second innings to pave way for the youngsters as the match was already in Mumbai's pocket. The failure in first innings was just a one off case.. so dont ever compare this performance when we were debating with ICC ratings.
Failure 1: 1997 West Indies Tour India's Target is just 120! If sachin had scored 40 or 50 India would have won that Test and series. Remember all the other matches have washed out by rain. But Steve have scored 200 against the same WI team and Australia had won the series in 1995.
Failure 2: 1997 South Africa tour SA was bowled out for 234 in the 1st innings. India had a great chance to boost big total (atleast 280 or 320) but India was bowled out for just 100. What happened to the 12,000 runs scorer Sachin? He too bowled out for 16. After two months Aus toured to the same SA team and Sa was bowled out for 270. But Aus scored 600 plus with S waugh scoring 164 and Blewwett with 200 plus.
Same worries happened to the so-called Lara.
I am not blaming Sacin and Lara. They are great players but not as great as Riches, sobers, waughs, etc.
