I think Lara was the best.... with players like sobers and others you cant possibly call hayden the best ever.. But agreed he was one of the best openers around

Agree BUt Ganguly's offSide play was a TREAt for the eyes...such languid stroke play...delight to watch.
Australia is nailing its own nails in its coffer. by drpooing out of form players like hayden. Every players goes through bad form.but disrespecting them will lead to nothing but your downfall from grace. ricky pointing is doing that job pretty well.
See what is happening to the guys who plotted innocent Bhajji's downfall.
1. Hayden - Forced to retire after poor form. 2. Symonds - Struggling with his form, was recently sacked from the team. 3. Pointing - Struggling to keep his captaincy and batting form. 4. Sreesanth - Sruggling badly to come back into the national side and recently demoted to D grade.
This shows Harbhajan was on right path and all these guys unjustly tried to get him in trouble.

Oh Ya??? He was said to be going through a "lean patch" during the recent tour of India.. Or was he not?
His downfall has started right from the sydney test in 2008 Jan where He,Ponting & Symonds were involved in dirty games.. All of those who are playing dirty games should stop this and start to concentrate on improving skills. Other wise this will happen to them also.
The only player who retired on a high note is the Dada in the recent times.

you don't know anything about CRICKET.. GILLY,PIEGON are the only players retired players on high.. Ganguly kicked out from team.
He might have had a real bad past 12 or 15 months, but there is no doubt batting wise he was one of the best lefties. It was privilage to watch 3 great lefties Brian Lara (131 Mts, 11953 Runs, Avg 52, Hundreds 34), Adam Gilchrist (96 Mts, 5570 Runs, Avg 47.60, 17 Hundreds) along with Hayden in the past decade.
All 3 left handers can walk into the best world eleven any day.
why rediff is published HYDOY'S high in india? Becoz here OZ haters are only present. INDIANS won't accept FACTS/ so publish only lows of HYDO'S, it will give more popularity for REDIFF in india.
More like he had no option but to retire. He had 3 terrible Test series, against India, New Zealand and South Africa. He would have probably been sacked if he didn't retire.
Matt Hayden has accomplished greatness. But he could have done better both on the field and off the field. He has not accomplished as much as was possible with such great skills and attitude. He had an uneasy relationship with India and this after his spectacular tour in 2001.
