Ramadoss and Thirumavalavan demand to cancel Indian cricket tour to Sri Lanka: “Censure Sri Lanka like apartheid South African regime”

The Indian cricket team should not be allowed to tour Sri Lanka till an amicable solution to the problems of Tamils is found, PMK leader S. Ramadoss said on Thursday in a statement. “South Africa, during the oppressive, apartheid regime was barred from participating in international sports events. Adopt the same stand in the case of Sri Lanka now,” Dr. Ramadoss demanded.
The Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) also, in a separate statement, urged the government and the BCCI to desist from sending the Indian team for the proposed tour to Sri Lanka.
PMK leader S. Ramadoss said:
The Indian cricket team should not be allowed to tour Sri Lanka till an amicable solution to the problems of Tamils is found. The BCCI should take such a decision. The Indian government should also direct the BCCI in this regard.
Otherwise, Tamils will boycott all international cricket matches held in Chennai.
India, which boycotted the apartheid regime in South Africa, should also boycott Sri Lanka. What is happening in Sri Lanka is worse than what happened during the oppressive, apartheid regime of South Africa. It was barred from participating in international sports events. India, too, refused to have any links with South Africa. Adopt the same stand in the case of Sri Lanka.
yaha kya sab hi selector banne hue hain. Bechare BCCI ke selector's ka job is in great danger. These all Harish,Jai and joshi should post there comments directly to BCCI's website no one knows they might get some notice. BCCI selectors never login to Rediff.
I think this tour is a perfectly planned tour for ahead NEWZELAND tour and I think going and playing in NEWZELAND means not a joke.A lot of practice is required and after the cancellation of Pakistan tour Indian cricketers might have heavily relied on domestic cricket but the proposed Sri Lanka tour will give them a good practice for tough tour NEWZELAND.
We gave the best possible security for Australian and England teams when they arrived here because of the terror threat. How good is the security over there in Sri Lanka ? Because of the recent setbacks for the LTTE, they may use this situation to carry out an attack and bring the world attention back towards them. I believe the best security cover should be provided for the Indian team, else they shouldnt tour Sri Lanka at a time of crisis like this...
mendis is like a snake who can bite anyone anytime....india should be wary of him and especially our six hitter, yuvi singh, coz he has an uncanny knack of seeing his stumps rattled whenever mendisssss... is bowling.....

except sehwag and Gambhir it is only Sachin who can read and play Mendis in Srilanka. So put Sachin's name 3rd.

When there is civil war is going on between Tamil Eelam and Srilanka Singhaleese , there is human rights violation on all fronts, there is racial, linguistic discrimination , Cricket Board of India must think twice to go on tour in Srilanka.

there is war only between terrorists and security forces..Innocent tamils are used as shield by LTTE...There is no civil war at all..human right violations are by LTTE

Can u imagine the balance of the ODi team-Viru and Srikanth the master blasters, Sachin, Saurav and Yuvraj to follow, Amarnath and Kapil the all rounders and Dhoni to bludgeon the bowling! Even the bowling department would have 3 Quicks, 2 medium pacers(Amarnath & Saurav), 3 parttime spinners (Viru, Sachin and Yuvraj) and the specialist leg spinner-Siva! If only there was a TIME MAchine!
