Sachin meant that Tests are not on neutral venues
by Devdutt Nayak on Jan 07, 2009 11:43 AM

So using Neutral venues in Ranji robs the players of experience of playing under pressure from home crowds. I think that is the theory behind this. No need of calling Tendulkar a fake/phoney/etc saying that he needs crowd support to perform.
Thank you.

Chateshwar pujara troubled by Agarkar short pitch bowling
by arun on Jan 07, 2009 10:21 AM  | Hide replies

For all the hype..chateshwar pujara.made just 39 and struggled against zaheer and especially agarkar..agarkar peppered him with short-pitch stuff and he had no answer..testimony to the fact that he is not yet fully-fit for Intl cricket...Jaffer(301) who scored heavily has already been sorted out by International bowlers..So please dont create Hype around Pujara

don't judge the book by cover. The fact is he is among the leading run scorers in domestic circuit. If he is not good enough then it only means the standard of domestic matches is highly poor

Playing in the face of opponent teams first inning score of over 600 runs, even Sachin would not have done better. If u hv any doubts, pl check stats.

dont go by style or the elegance...go by the consistency and contribution towards the team total...and also weigh the apponents against which the batsmen has scored runs and lastly, see the age and the amount of cricket left in him if he is too old and check his stamina while running between wickets and his fielding...these are the parameters that should be considered before a cricketer is selected to the national squad...

if you had gone only by style, then ajaya jadeja would still be in the team and elegance, azhar would have been still doing match fixing...hehehe

Even when relaying, they give more imortance to Mumbai. Naturally teams from other regions feel let down

what importace nyou are talking about man.

Anjikya rahane scored above 1000 runs in this ranaji edition but nobody is talking about him. even ramesh Powar scored & took wickets but nobody highlighted his sucess.

What it means is only the Mumbai match is shown live (though it is one sided) in TV. Also Cricinfo doesnt even provide live text commentary for TN match. Isnt that ridiculous. Come on man - both are Semi final matches.

Declaration
by Abhijit on Jan 06, 2009 01:35 PM

India stretched the last innings further lunch without declaring even after securing a win against England in the last series. The match ended in tame draw.

Australia declared against India for an acheivable target of 300 in 85 overs just playing 5 overs in the last day. Again they declared giving the target of 367 from 120 overs. That too after a chase of 414 acheived by SA.

Even in failure Aussies do have that quality. Should be followed by all. Not Draw result is for what all match is played.

Neutral venues

"It is fun to have crowd supporting you at your home ground, and against you in away games"

Correct. Neutral venues are better to play against Pakistan.
