because they are on the losing grounds...
Here after,Australia can't find men with good stamina and strength like Gilchrist, Glen Mcgrath etc...with whom Aussies were winning the world cup since 1987

RESPECT GREATS OF THE GAME...
by jatin sharma on Jan 03, 2009 04:04 AM  | Hide replies

aus was not called invincible for nothing under bradman and benaud...
dude they played on uncovered pitches, with no protective gearand with no overstepping rule...

try palying hard ball cricket without gloves and u`ll come to know...

india made its debut in 1932..
australia,england,SA did in 1877-1880s..
thats a good 60 yrs diiference...

i know history pe hum aaj ki uplabhdiyon ko bhula de par...

ek team ko is taraah nicha dikhana sahi nahin hai...
soch lo sachin, dravid, bhajji bhi ek din retire honge aur india ki halat phir wahin hogi...

Australia deserving winners that time
by Kaushik Ganguli on Jan 02, 2009 06:28 PM  | Hide replies

What must be remembered also is that the English cricket team was one of the strongest to tour Australia. The team was packed with Surrey stalwarts who had won the county championships from 1951 to 1957. The captain was Peter May who was one of the finest post war batsmen to play for England. But Benauds captaincy saw the Aussies through so it is quite an important series in the modern context. Normal O Neill was one of the best batsmen who was hailed as a new Bradman but the best Aussie batsman was Neil Harvey who was the best left hander in the world that time. Ray Lindwall played his last series but stamped his authority as one of the best fast bowlers of all time. For England there was Peter May of course and Colin Cowdrey. I feel that Test cricket was at its best from 1945 to say 1977 when it was absorbing and made for great viewing. The two decades post packer were also quite good but not as much. There has been an abysmal fall say from 2000.

That series became notorious for the chuckers...the biggest culprit was Ian Meckiff who was banned for life 5 years later at Braisbane against SA in 1963....

Also Gordon Rorke, KN Slater and Burke at some stage chucked......the series was a disaster from the English point of view and it took them 12 years to regain the Ashes back in 1970.....

Mr. Sharma, that message was not replied to your posting. So why are you poking your nose. Anyways, since you've done that, here's your nose cut---
"india has not even for a day become no.1 in any format of cricket..despite being world champs(both being due to luck...)"
1. What kind of a statement is this???
2. India is currently T20 World Champions. Even if you stand upside down, you cannot change this fact.
3. If Australia wins its talent. If India wins its luck??? What a baseless logic is this???

Winning World Cup can not be compared with winning a Series, Winning Ashes. Which Country did celebrate such series victories ???

They have remained a super power until now (AS PER THE CURRENT RANKINGS) and most of series victories (years together), long run country records (unlike sachin's selfish ones), world cup triumps, ashes triumps, overseas triumps, home soil records (until recently for many years), champions trophies, world xi matches, and so on....

They have moral rights that anyone..

Remember, Old windies remained champions in 1970's against A COMPLETE MINNOW cricket playing nations. While Aussie records were against most of the quality playing nations (that may include india to some extent).

Accept the fact. They will definitely bounce back, of course, their celebrations end up fire in your bellies...

Being Indian, those people who support other nations must be hypocrites. You can "like" other nations. But I feel you should "support" India, no matter what.
If your child says, "I Hate Daddy. But I Love Uncle". How will you feel????
Being an Indian, I feel we should accept and SUPPORT India as it is. We can try and improve the situation through positive thinking. But not by supporting other nations - be it Cricket or Politics.

why hypcrites...don`t ppl splecially girls drool for brad pitt...
u ppl urself are ashamed to spk hindi or ur mother tongue..
i do support india but i also respect the talent australia has.
india has not even for a day become no.1 in any format of cricket..despite being world champs(both being due to luck...)
tell honestly did ur heart or mind tell u that india w`d win T20 WC...or after seeing the team for WC 83...

australia celebrates coz they excel in nythng they do...
so accept it...
now india is touring NZ in feb..thats the coldest time in NZ..and u know what happened last time in 2002...we wr annilated in both odi(6-1) and test(2-0).

australia will bounce back whn ponting gives up captaincy...simple..

and be a little practical. instead of labelling others hypocrites..

yea mr.gorg.

Probably you run ahead of your tiny brain. Let's wait and watch. Being NO.1 in two forms of cricket for this long, is a DREAM for any other cricket playing nation. Keep wimping on Aussie slag for sometime. This will raise their spirit. As seen in the past, they group together and clinch all important games once again !!!
