Why Kalis, Boucher, Deviliears and Prince not appointed as a head
by Tapesh on Jan 02, 2009 03:34 PM  | Hide replies

What an amazing thing this is ? I did not expect from Cricket South Africa. They appointed Botha as the captain of the side and McKenz will be the vice Captain. Is Kalis not there ? is Mark Boucher not there ? is Prince not there ? Botha is appointed as a Captain while he has to still prove that he is a regular player of this side.
Well ! What to me. Being a good fan of SA. I wish best of luck to botha and his team.

They are like that only?
After 2003 World Cup they announced Smith as the captain who was not included in the World Cup 2003 squad. Perhaps they see the leadership skills ahead of performance and experience.

What do you thing about Botha's leadership " Has he ever led his team in domestic cricket. I dont know much about him but I have seen his bowling and bating. But named as captained , Strange, Strange very strange.
If I was asked about who should be the captain absence of Smith than I would have appointed Mark Boucher as Captain. Because He has much experience.

my dear friend, south africa is not an ordinary side. their win is not a fluke. only one test won is called a fluke, but they have won two matches.

Yes, ashish..

He is wrong...

It is not fluke...but

FLUKES... because 2 Test matches according to you.

OK bunty?

And of Course, South Africans are a VREY ORDINARY SIDE. A common man knows it in terms of Cricket...

I think...

The only reason this Johan Botha is made captain is because he will be replaced only Graeme Smith comes back. SA management has decided Smith is their best captain and they dont want to create conflict by putting another captain in and him becoming successful by winning the next test. A rookie would be easier to replace.

Pity your belly. There's a whole lot of agony and fire... YOu have gone down to support SA against your policies... Dont worry in the next 100 years your team )not SA( will become No.1, ONCE.

Johan Botha

You all don't watch cricket, Johan Botha had already captained once for SA. And he will be a good captain in future. Hope this SA ODI side will beat OZ...

Never heard of him...is he a bit like Lee Germon of New Zealand who captained the black caps in the 1996 World cup and also made his debut in the same tournament??

He has played quite a few matches now including matches against India.
Quite a handy off-spinner who can bat a bit.
