A very good and a better cricketer like Dravid praising Sunil Gavasker is not tolerable.

Dravid is known as Gentleman in Indian Team, where as Sunil had been cunning.

Dravid played the most selfless innings all through his career, where as Sunil played for records.

Dravid is role model for so many youngsters, and he should not admire some one who halted teh game in the middle of the match just because he was given out by the umpire. He has to learn a lot from players like Sachin, Dravid and Kumble..

Mr Dravid, just show us the single game where Sunil had come to Indias rescue, and kept Indian flag flying high as Kumble did or Sachin did..

Sachin, Vishy, Kapil, Kumble, Binny and Dravid (and so many others) are the true heroes of India..

Sunil Gavaskar has always been an ispiration and a role model for many cricketers & others. His concentration, dedication, tactfulness in handling difficult situations is simply admirable.
He is the person who taught the Indians to face fast bowlers fearlessly. He was equally good against spinners & fast bowlers. He could stand on throught the day with same amount of concentration. As a batsman he was the Best of his era.He performed well as a captain too.We cannot forget the mini world cup of 1985 where we won the cup very comfotably and Ravi Shastry got Audi car.
Hats of to you Sunil.

think Ajay Jadeja would make a wonderful coach of Team India. He's all the shrewdness of a successful strategian and he has displayed it in mor occasions than one, while he captained India. He was a glorious player, someone who could pace his innings at will and proved to be Mr. Dependable almost always. As a fielder there was none close to him, except the equally agile Azhar ofcourse. None of the charges framed against Jadeja could be proven right and so he could not be seen as a traitor also. Jadeja fans will always long to see him in the fields again, if not as a player then as a coach definitely.

"a glorious player, someone who could pace his innings at will" - How do you explain his pathetic strike rate of 69 which is lowest among all batsmen playing since 90s batting at number 5-6 positions ? The truth is he was an average player who always struggled against quality attacks on juicy wickets.

think ravinder jadeja will bring back the glories what ajay jadeja did for his team. but ajaj jadeja was caught in match fixing and he was axed.. even shane warne, mark waugh, brian lara, nicky boye, harshall gibs were involved in match fixing ....but there board allowed them to play for the country,,, but our BCCI was full of power and sacked ajaj jadeja and ruined his cricketing career.... i hope ravinder jadeja should perform well so that ajaj jadeja can be remembered once again... ajay jadeja was a great fielder like what jonty rodes was for south africa. ajay jadeja took a great catch of allan border in 1992 world cup which the whole cricketing world cannot forger... he also smashed waqar younis for so many sixes in 1996 world cup quarter final.. and in even he took 3 wikcets in dubia to seal the victory against england... he use to get less overs, but still his average was aroung 36. he was always encouraging on the field always laughing and did had a cool attitude... so hope ravinder jadeja will step in shoes of ajay jadeja.................

gavaskar is great..
by Amogh Shende on Feb 23, 2009 12:38 PM  | Hide replies

Sachin is great but gavaskar is ahead of him because sunny has faced terrific bowlers like holding, marshal and garner. Sachin didnt got chance because there were no such bowlers in his era...

I aboslutely endorse the view of amogh. Sunny had to shoulder single handedly the burden of the team and face incredible fast bowlers, who were all-time greats. Further, who vcan forget his epic 221 and a 96 in his last test against Pak on a venemous pitch at Blore. Sunny is G8, but sachin is extremely talented and modest for the achievements he has reached.I feel sachin shud concentrate ONLY in test and not one-dayers

No bowlers ha ha, Who were Mcgrath , Warne , Muralitharan, Donald, Walsh, Ambrose, Akram, Aqtar, Waqar, Saqlain.
Just because we ve seen them playing often doesnt mean that there were no great bowlers

No doubt that sunny was an excellent player and the way Dravid has given respect to him shows his greatness and also sunny's milestone. This is way how great players are made by not only playing good cricket but also by giving respect to each other and that must be the gaining path for our yonger generation of cricket.
Heads off to Sunny and also to mine ever favourite Dravid.
thanks,
