I don’t know why people pounce on sachin whenever they get a chance..Here is a man who has been unselfishly serving the team with high consistency and indisputably the greatest sportsman that India has ever produced…I only request to fellow bloggers to show some constraint in criticizing this grt man…

1. Tendulkar can be a nonplaying member of the team to give moral support and advice to the younger memebers. 2. Anyway the others are playing better than him in recent matches. And he has specialised to appear to the umpire LBW in every ODI match that he played recently in Sri Lanka. The team performed well despite his lapse. Did he return home voluntarily or was he packed home?
3. To retire or not to (To be or Not to be) should be Tendulkar's decision. He should search his conscience and when the time comes, he should retire gracefully and should earn the admiration of all his well wishers, including ourselves.

Dear Mr. Moses Joseph, I think there is no meaning for your point 3, because the time frame for it expired long back. Anytime from now Sachin retires, it won't be graceful at all.
In sheer comparison and in hindsight, even the exit of Kumble and Ganguly appears far more graceful!

It is not humour but shameless comments.Sachin is great and whoever try to make fun by making such comments like he will go on playing till 2075 world cup is a stupid. His value to the team is immense. We, Indians should be proud of him and his achievements and let him play and as long as he enjoys the game and contribute to the team's success through one way or other. I am sure he may make a decision by the time the next world cup ends in 2011.

I feel even if he continues, it will only benefit the team as the youngsters look up to him for guidance and learn a lot. Unlike other seniors in the team, he has a positive impact on the team. He may not directly contribute in terms of runs or wickets but he surely has a positive impact on players. Recent comment by Yuvi that he learnt from tendulkar to negotiate Mendis is a testimonial to that.

Mr. Nagesh, by your yardstick, we have to include Wasim Akram in Indian team, because he has been giving tips to our pace bowlers off and on, we have to include Venkatesh Prasad, Robin and Gary Kirsten in the team because some players are getting expert advice from these and improving.
Even the likes of Gavaskar give batting tips to Rahul Dravid and others, so Sunny should also be included in the Indian team.
So eventually we will have a playing XI whose average age is closer to 45 than 25!

People like these don't know how to quit at the top of your game. The others include the likes of Lata Mangeshkar, Amitabh Bachchan, and Javed Miandad.
They hold their sense of pride and power so close that they can never let go of that feeling...till they are unceremoniously thrown out. Do you think Lata Mangeshkar won't sing for another film if she was asked to? even if she's singing playback for an 19 year-old actress
I think Jayawardene has taken a hasty decision. I do not see anyone apart from Kumar Sangakarra to take the mantle from Mahela. I just wonder if it is the lack of interest or passion that has made Mahela to take this decision. He is a good batsmen along with good leadership skills. Sri Lanka did fairly well in last World Cup. Looking ahead also, I think he is still young and experienced enough to lead the team.
