Just read that ICL's broke, World series planned for March is cancelled.
Piasa khatam Chandra ka to buddho ka slo-mo matches also over.
Jis tarah free-entry se stadium bhara jata tha aur apne saare channels pe jabardasti match telecast kiya tha yeh to ek din hona hi tha.
What else? ICL's story over. Now slowly players like Mohd Yusuf, Shane Bond etc apne apne board ko apologies bhej kar National team mein wapas aane ki koshish karenge.
For sure, the joke(so called 'cricket') is finally over.Thank God!!!

It also shows they are only concrned about money. How else they cancel their tournament and review the players current payment saying there is ecnomic crisis. If they really love the game,as Kapil Dev always says, they should continue with it not worriying about ecnomics. Isn't it true that the first class structure in india produces no money but BCCI is bearing all the expencess and paying the players well for keeping the first class game alive. They not complaint about ecnomics and stoped it. Anyway there may be few more reasons behind the cancellation such as an agreement with board in pipeline or some kind of settlement.
All these people try to find entertainment in the laziest game possible and spend their hard earned money to watch overpaid spoiled brats providing entertainment in the name of national sentiment.

I care about my country and wish that there is something else other than a lazy game with no competition and a money making franchise to look up to as a real sport to develop our youth.
You are right that I do not care about cricket. But just wanted to express my opinion and see if anyone out there thinks the same way as me.
DHoni tendulkar zaheer and all the team members shld resign and stop playing for BCCI XI. They got the love and affacetion from fans, cvos they played for India not BCCXI.. in that sense we shld be a fan of symond who also plays for BCCI....
There is a clear need to seperate the BCCI from IPL. BCCI should only be concerned with the national team and it must become mandatory for cricketers to play for the National team isrrespective of their commitments to and affiliations with their clubs. Banning ICL players from the national team is a disgrace ven if most of them may find it difficult to find a place in the national side.

Fans should stop watching IPL and boycott products endorsed by IPL. Why ask poor cricket players to resign. It is their job just like yours and mine.

i absolutely agree with the fact that it is a disgrace to ban ICL players from playing in the national team, which is only because the BCCI defines these rules according to what suits itself.BUT at the end of the day,WE the veiwers should not watch IPL....and it is therefore left to us teach BCCI a lesson
Judging from the tone of the article, the author seems to be bribed by BCCI to sing encomiums for IPL and a dirge for ICL.
Everyone knows that BCCI is playing unfair games when it comes to IPL by not allowing Indian team players from playing in ICL, not giving broadcast rights to ZEE TV, banning ICL players from playing for ICC countries, etc.

True... very true... India unfortunately has lost many talented cricketers for the simple reason that the followed their passion and went on to contest in The ICL...
Even old legends like Kapil Dev have been disregarded and humiliated just because he was associated wuth the ICL... Adding insult to injury the BCCI even revoked his Pension... BCCI is controllin' cricket the way Hitler dominated Germany.. only here the Icl people are like Jews..

hey dude
come on man ICL just suckkss big time quality of cricket and stadium is also too low for cricket
If ICL not face any restictions, then it will surly become a big hit by attracting best talents and make huge profit. It will also encourage other networkes or even other buiseness people to start similar events. The same formula may even find buyers in other cricket playing countries. Within few years there wont be any big bids for nation to nation cricket other than 20/20. Who is going to fund the first class cricket then? Zee Group...

Rakhesh, you should watch other sports like football which are doing good on the same format.
Not all change is good, but neither all change is bad.
Cricket cannot be about 14 players selected for a national team. It is a mass game and should be played at school, university, district, state and all levels. ICl was not creating a national team, it was just supplementing the existing infrastructure.
Shame we are loosing on a good opportunity and blindly supporting the BCCI.

Fortunatly football got only one version. So a nation to nation match alwaays make enough dollers . Even clubs will invest in development of the game.Unfortunatly cricket got three versions.20/20 will get the support from everybody b'cause it will make profit. But how many privetly funded tournaments will support first class games. If allowed ICL or any other tournaments will supplyment talents for one or two version of the game ie. 20/20 and one day. For test match survivel you needed support for first class games.Today test cricket and first class cricket can not survive with out the financial support from 20/20 and one day games. BCCI compelled to spend the money on first class cricket. There is no guarantee that others will do that.
Re: Re: Re: Think properly

Even in that case you will get additional pool of players for 20/20 and one dayers because of IPL.
What has BCCI done for revival of Test cricket? If it was so really interested in cricket, it would have left T20 to ICL and focused on its existing tasks.

Defenitly.IPL create a pool of players for 20/20 and one day. Yusaf Pathan, Ravindra Jadeja are examples. ICL can do the same. I agreed with it in my earlier reply itself.
I am not a big fan of BCCI. I clearly mentioned earlier reply BCCI compelled to support first class game. They may not like it.. but they left with no other option.
Also note that, 20/20 and one day cricket needed to support test match cricket and first class games financialy, as it not able to look after itself. In that scenario BCCI needed rake in as much moolah as possible from 20/20 and one day games.Thats why they crated IPL. They can't allow the money flow to some corporate peoples pocket such as ICL.

Kid, so you watch cricket for statistics. Good. Looks like this Kid is also going to grow into a IIM number-cruncher.
Your oinion is correct from your point of you. But cricket is not just about speed, fours and sixes.

I agree with u "mumbai Indian" ( nice name .. by the way...)
Cricket is a game where u are tested in 3 different principles.. Its not just the huff and puff of bowling at 160kmph or whackin' 6 sixes... Grow up "kid"... So wat if the fastest ball was 128kmph or the highest score was 70-odd... the final thing is if it was useful in promoting the welfare of the team and the sport in general..
The only reason BCCI snubbed and humiliated ICL was that it was afraid that the Power base of Cricket would shift... Following the BCCI's oders all the other "Chela" boards (PCB, SCA, NZC...etc.) too have followed suit... wonder how much their bank balances were remunerated by the BCCI...???
