Dear Friend,
I appreciate your concern for foot ball.. at the same time cricket is another form of sports. Nowadays, a game does not betters in popularity for just being time efficient or so reasons, its because of Entertainment and Money. Do you think People so fond of football (like European premier league) because its time efficient and not of entertainment and money?

Now the Govt should take away cerntain percentage of money from BCCI, since govt has funded BCCI when it was weaker. Now the govt can divert that money to other sports. HOPE THE GOVT USES BRAINS TO DO SMART ACTIONS.

The same thing with IT. It set zero percentage tax on IT companies. Whe the IT companies are making good, why does not apply a decent percentage of tax and divert that fund other Industries. ANOTHER POINT IS WHEN GOVT HAS REDUCED TAXES ALL THOSE INDUSTRIES GREW TREMENDOUSLY IN IMPROVING THE PEOPLES LIFE

CRICKET IS A USELESS GAME.
by rey tiger on Feb 10, 2009 01:30 PM  | Hide replies

It seems there are no rules in cricket, that they have World Cup every year. In this way cricket is becoming useless. Just 10 countries and even some of this are not even fully intrested in cricket. Just Indians like it cause Indians have a lot of time to waste

Tiger, guess you mean T20 world cup, but its played every 2 years. Well there are world cups played every year(Swimming World Cup), every 2 years(Baseball World Cup)? Interestingly most sports "world cups" happens every 4 years, wonder why 4 years, why not say 5,10,12 etc.?

what india needs
by Peace on Feb 10, 2009 11:13 AM  | Hide replies

As india doing great in all form of crickets, its a time to take some bold decision for future. One way to give chance in different form for the players who fits more. Just like dravid is not playing ODI, great for him and cricket. I respect Kumble's decision to concentrate on test long ago and retirement. I would suggest to give more opportunity to youngter to sho their skill in 20-20 and ODI format and just keeping mature underperforming cricketers.

Part 2:
and just keeping ,mature underperforming cricketers doesnt help any team. They should concentrate more on test cricket where any countries reputation on stake. Also dont take players for drinks or for fun. Give them enough chance as balaji and r. jadeja in last ODI.

It will be good if Sachin plays the next set of games for Teams Purposes like he did Test match again England and retires in a good shape, instead of concentrating on records. Enough records is already achieved...!

Why is that points not given to Captaincy and Vice Captaincy ? Extra points for handling presure situations by bowlers and batsmen ? Otherwise this points system is looking outdated.

Very good to see Sehwag leads the race inspite of playing lesser games than others last year. He was made to sit out during the CB series by Mr.Dhoni. He played just 5 out of 10 matches there. He was out of SL ODI series last time due to injury(???). He was rested during Kitply cup,Asia cup and the recently concluded ODI series against SL as well.

Hockey is our national game and never gets coverage like Cricket. I really feel pity for hockey players who equally does well but never get recognition. :(

rather blame the Great Kapildev for this. If he didnt had heroic 175 in worldcup, niether india in final and won the prudencial cup. That was a moment when india gone crazy about cricket. I say lets other sport shows their strength to come up. just bashing cricket no sport will get gain.

The Govt is generally foollish, wakes up very late. It should now focus on other games, since BCCI itself can handle cricket. It should get centain percentage of Royalty from Cricket and pass it to some couple of other games. So that other games also get encouragement.
