if yusup patan is allrounder then sachin, shewag, yuvraj, raina, r sharma, are all alrounders... zaheer khan was pathetic but still p kumar is out in 5th odi.... so every body think on it.

man with a sr of over 85 in 400 odd games coupled with an avg of 44, does it get any better? He has been playing from 20 yrs and played against bowlers of the caliber of akram, waqar, mcgrath, gillespi, ambrose, walsh, donald, pollock and many other great bowlers. Surely scoring runs against them at that rate must be tougher than scoring against the likes of thushara and kulasekara. I wonder what game you guys watch or have been watching?

and pls don't come up with crap like, oh he played only against Zim and kenya. You can't play 400 odd games against them. His record against the best team in the world proves why he is considered a legend. The likes of sehwag and yuvraj are sitting ducks when they play against Australia. They might succeed now becoz australia has a popgun attack but to score runs against the intimidating team of the late 90's and this decade was surely a dream for many batsmen and very few have made that dream into a reality and sachi is one among them.

dude, looks as if u suffer from the malady known as sachin mania. so what if he has been playing for 20 years? just because he was good a long time back doesnt mean he will be good forever.

let me place an open bet with you. if in the next 2 years, leading upto the world cup, let us analyze his performances. Let us analyze his way of playing, manner in which he gets out and usefulness to the team. If you can convince me that he is a matchwinner and that the team cannot do without him, I will accept defeat gracefully. And this is a fair bet. I am willing to gracefully consider all aspects, and am willing to graciously accept sachin's greatness, if that is indeed the case.

ok dude i'an on for your bet. Sachin will atleast be in the top10 scorers of odi cricket in the next two years provided he is fit. He was the highest scorer in 2007. And for your kind information, no one in the team is indespensable and this team can even win without sehwag( eg CB series), gambhir, dhoni, yuvraj. So just because sachin is not in the team and india are winning does'nt mean that he is not required. Even zaheer did'nt play the last match and india won without him, does that mean we throw zaheer out of the team.

by usefulness to the team i meant his contribution in victories.
and what do u mean, provided he is fit? if he isnt fit, he has no place i the team.

and i am not only talking about runs scored here. runs scored will not be the only parameterby which you judge his contribution.

hope u agree. because it works both ways. a slow, painstaking 100 by sachin might not be a matchwinning contribution. on the other hand, a 30 or 40 if played for the team's cause is worth a lot.

sachin cant hide behind injury for each and every bad performance. he has done it before....he has a poor series, and immediately declares himself injured so that people can say he failed because of injury. not going to work. if he is fit, he is in the team if he isnt, he is out.

and the case of getting injured in the middle of a series will be judged based in credibility and genuine reasons.

indain govt and people have adopted the most demeaned sport of cricket, which have five day, one day matches, they should adopt most physical fitness game like rugby, hockey, soccer,,not cricket,, time wasting and whole day dramas nof excising, not stamina and wastage of time, it is better switch off tv when socalld under-20 is on,,,,
concentrate on country development,,,poverty, illiteracy,,corruption, law, justice system,, people have been made slave by corruptive systemof powerful politician, businessman, and mafia,, if people think like amul and sharing like krishana philosophy , everyone can have home, education, good food and peace of mind, whole modern system of capitalism is totaly slavery to make people work hard just for entertainment and house,,,what great slavery ,,,,,,,,ifyou people have mind ,,,think, study the history,,,,growth of capitalism,,,its web of dream, slavaery and deceitfulness,,,,,

life will be mechanical and boring without cricket..learn to appreciate and not just criticize.if people in india are passionate about cricket you can't take it away from them!can you?and if you think cricket is wastage of time and it is not physically demanding then may be you have never played cricket in your whole life!!!!and changing the system and world by ridiculing cricket..that is the most common piece of $#it people do to relieve their own frustrations!;)

It is not right to insult other people's opinions. Whatever you said may have been right, but you should have worded it slightly differently.

Every sport has its own charm. It is unfair for you to insult any sport, and if your opinion persists, then you should try to place your opinions more diplomatically. As far the 'bucks' is concerned. It is good to see so much money pumped into cricket, in a way it raises the country's profile and it also helps generate more financial benefits in the cricketing sector. Your implied idea of socialism has been tried, and largely failed (I do agree with lots of socialist notions of course, such as public service institutions, and social security systems, but not all). My point of view is that every sector and every person should be more involved (in a fair manner) in the current capitalist system, and that way there will be a socialist outcome of fair opportunities and fair results. Of course, it won't have equality and a balance, but it will most certainly give people a decent livelihood, with scope for education, justice, and a decent living standard with growing opportunities to the pursuit of happiness. Anyways, for now enjoy the cricket, and congratulations for Team INDIA and good luck for the games and series ahead! JAI HIND!! VANDE MATARAM!!
