A pointless article by Rediff once again. The topic said "One Over Eliminator to debut in IPL" and nowhere is it mentioned what it is about... except a one liner mention at the bottom.
What has pakistan ever done for india? NOTHING They are behind mumbai bombings, kashmir problem, they have declared war on us 4 times.
Why should play in pak and help them create jobs, money ect Do you really thing foriegn players from Aus, Eng, NZ,South afria will really play in PAK anyway?
Lalit Modi is aware of the situation in Pakistan. Still he wants to conduct the IPL matches there, dats a "shocker". The guy really needs to rethink about it......

What is an eliminator? It is the tiebreaker for Twenty20 internationals. In July 2008 the eliminator, also referred to as the Super Over, replaced the bowl-out as the official tool to separate teams that finish at the same score at the end of a completed Twenty20 game.
How does it work? Both the teams get to play one over each after the match, and the team that wins that contest is the winner: in a way it's a One1 to resolve a Twenty20 tie.
How many players take part in the eliminator? Both sides have to nominate three batsmen and one bowler each for the eliminator. A team can be bowled out in the traditional sense, if it loses two wickets. The bowler and batsmen, once nominated, cannot be changed. All the fielders take a part in the contest. The eliminator is played with the same fielding restrictions as those in place for the last over of a normal Twenty20 intenrational.
Is there a toss for the eliminator? No. The team that batted second in the actual match bats first.
What if the teams are tied at the end of the eliminator? In case of a second tie, the total number of sixes hit - in the main match and in the eliminator - becomes the tiebreaker. If the teams are still tied, the team that has hit the most boundaries - fours and sixes - in the eliminator is declared the winner.

This rule should benefit india the most...in the international T-20 we have the fire power
yuvi, sehwag and Dhoni and bowl either Zaheer or Ishant...
We should let yuvi have a couple of beers ;) before and ..then send him and see him go boom boom ...would be realistic to expect from him hitting 3 out of 6 balls out of the park..
Will Petersons or freddys inclusion to any IPL team automatically increase the current salary of the Icon Player in that particular team provided that these two are sold at higher than their base price????
