Remember, Dhoni and Pathan was the last recognized batting pair... and think what happened when he was out in the 2nd ODI. Team was short of 15-20 runs. If he is going for a big shot and got out in the 38th or 40th over, India would be allout within 45 overs.
Learn cricket first. Cricket is not all about hitting 4s and 6s. Play according to the situation. Dhoni used his head and did that.

Well Dhoni uses his head too much of lately I guess. He considers himself as articulate inning builder and that has taken away offensive zinc from his bat. I remember in one of the games last year, he came ahead of Rohit Sharma and kept defending in a bid to build inning. Now when Sharma came he had Sharma go on slogging as not too many overs left. Sharma got out quickly as he is not capable slogging as soon as he arrives on cris. And mind you Sharma was in good form at that time as well..
Dhoni was a better slogger then Sharma and Sharma is better equipped to built inning then Dhoni. Dhoni is sharp guy and no doubt about that, but ne needs to get that old Dhoni back in him and get on offense and let Raina, Sharma or Ghambhir hold one end..
As Dhoni said now the records are not imp(only series is imp.).first all the team members are need come back into form.after that we can go for the records.i think its absolutely right.
Jimmy after your so much persistence on one question and writing so many lines ok lets find out some answeres for your question.. "WHEN WE HAD 5 WICKETS IN HAND AND DHONI WAS UNABLE TO HIT MORE THAN A BOUNDARY IN EVEN THE LAST 2,3 OVERS" 1. Dhoni was hitting too hard into the ground and was not able to time the shots preoperly. 2. May be the way he was hitting it you felt he was trying to hit the ball to 4 or 6 but actually he just wanted to hit for 1s,2s or 3s by giving yousuf to go after the bowling... 3. May be he wanted yousuf to get his fifty. 4. He dint want to get out which may affect his avg. Sicne he knew India wud win anyways. 5. His thinking was atleast he can score 1,2 or3 instaed of going to hit the ball and getting out which eventually wud have meant 0 runs scored of that ball and then only taileners to follow who might not even be able to give strike back to yusuf to hit in last over. 6. May be he is not practising in the nets enough to hit the balls cleanly. 7. may be he got money to play like that, I mean match fixing involed :-) this also may look obvious to you since you are hell bent upon why he played that way and whats happening to him.... Finally one more thing what he is doing and has done is something no indian cricketer has achived since ODIs started...anyways Negative poeple like you can never understand these things....

Are you on a bench ? How can u get so much time to watch videos?
think Dhoni should bat at no 4 from next match onwards because by batting at no 6 the pressure will be high on him because he is a captain and there is a responsibility on him and motivate other batsman also to score runs and after becoming captain Dhoni's strike rate might have came down but he is performing consistently and that is what more important in International Cricket and if he bat at no4 he could be eased from pressure in the final stages and by batting at no 4 he could hit some fours and sixes and I think Dhoni should promote Yusuf Pathan who is performing really good especially in final stages of the match and if we observe Yusuf batting in final overs he is realy hitting the ball hard and that is what important and Dhoni said that giving chance to bench players is Important because if we play with same set of players and if there is any fitness problems or any other problems that time it would be really difficult to find an apt replacement.
