I think

The break should be extended if they really want the Aussie team to prosper. But I think Ponting should be there when he plays against India:)

Ponting not one of the best captain
by uttam singh on Feb 03, 2009 01:46 PM  | Hide replies

A captain is as good as his team is....Ricky Pointing is the same man who at one point of time was considered as one of the greatest captain but the fact is that he is not. One should not be surprised if he is dropped from the team as well. lets wish him all the best...

by Nisha on Feb 03, 2009 12:51 PM  | Hide replies

Pointing was rated as the best captian after they won the world cups under him, and now he out of the team. This will be the case for DHONI also after a series defeat in NEWZELAND for INDIA. WAIT AND SEE

I have a more realistic prediction dear.

Please start consuming lot of antacids, ghee, butter milk, curd from now onwards.

Otherwise the fire (of jealousy and envy) which is burning inside your stomach will swallow you and reduce you to ashes soon!

Ricky Ponting is a BECHARA for me.
by Tapesh on Feb 03, 2009 12:02 PM  | Hide replies

Ricky Ponting is a BECHARA for me. He has been a great player, batsman and above all one of the most successful captains ever in the history of World Cricket. But some time he lost his patience and honesty that’s why he paid for it. But I like him for his leadership and his audacity.

AUSTRALIANS ARE CHEATERS
by biswanath roy on Feb 03, 2009 11:32 AM  | Hide replies

In the 1st ODI against the Kiwis the Australian WK Haddin deliberately dislodged the off-bail with his gloves, but his act was not caught by umpire Bucknor,& Kiwi batsman Neil Broom had to go back to the pavilion. This act of Haddin is a bigger case of cheating than Clarke's claim of Ganguly's catch, there atleast he had caught the ball though his hand clutching the ball hit the ground on impact- definitely not out. But in this case here is a man deliberately dislodging the bail with his gloves and claiming innocence. This is height of intransigence/ arrogance, they are upto this because they know that ICC will not punish a white man. It is really strange that even after such an act no former Indian cricket greats are saying anything against the Aussies. Maybe th reason is Gavaskar, Shastri & a few others are on contract as commentators with the STARSPORTS-ESPN channels, owned by an Australian.

Is Ricky Ponting is the most mendacious skipper in Cricket
by Tapesh on Feb 03, 2009 11:20 AM  | Hide replies

Is Ricky Ponting is the most mendacious skipper ever in the history of world Cricket ? Hai Friends ! This is Tapesh P from Kanpur UP. It is a socking decision made by CA. I suggest them that they should make this decision after complete the NZ series. This is a huge psychological pressure on CA.

The entire Aussie system is collapsing
by Chang Edmyname on Feb 03, 2009 10:50 AM  | Hide replies

That which is not built on proper values and principles will not sustain but crumble in the end. That is what is happening to Aussie cricket.

They once had brute force on their side. They misused it. They cheated, played dirty, bullied opponents, threw their weight around. It was easy to captain when all the old stalwarts were around like Warne and McGrath. Now Ponting, without those resources, with similar resources as the other captains of the world, is being shown up as incompetent. I think he should be dropped forever as captain.

The aussies are also missing the bus totally in terms of when they bring in players into the teams. even their domestic teams are filled with all old players. therefore this issue of not having talent to replace retiring resources will go on for some time for them.

Even now they are cheating - Haddin cheated in the last match against the kiwis. Cheating is not a sustainable strategy - now even NZ are questioning them like India did...well done Vettori - take the fight to them. The best way to tackle a bully is to face up to him - lets see how much they cheat now with NZ - they'll be dead scared.
