we won both the Test & the ODI series, our Board is not as daring as Sri Lankan or Australian, they r more bothered about team wins rather than players personal records & take bold decisions. Our lack of courage in taking bold decisions will ultimately backfire on us because other boards build a team of players by giving them international experience as well as responsibility, who can smoothly take over from senior players in case of need. The way they have groomed Dilshan from a no 7 batsman to a top order batsman who can do better than Jayasuriya is a lesson in man management. Our board does not have any foresight or planning for even next few years.

They bring in new faces who trouble our bowlers but we r even hesitant to give chances to those who r in the playing 15. We keep citing lack of experience as a reason to not allow newer players, that way a player never gets a chance & gets dropped without playing

Whoever plays, if India wins, what is your problem? They are winning consistently in India and Abroad. How does it matter, if a 40yr old or 55yr old plays? India is still winning. You should be preaching these lessons to our political parties to blood youngsters instead of cribbing here...

India is winning consistently since the last decade because players for whom wins matter have come into the team. The team is not dependent upon a single individual. When a particular single individual dominated the team, the other team members were weak, so his performances seemed superior, now that players have come into the team who can win matches single handedly, it is imperative to build a pool of such players by giving them more exposures who can deliver in vastly differing situations. Y r u preaching about 40 & 55 yr old players, y not preach about 100-120 yr old players? First stop preaching urself & learn to focus on wins, the reason behind the wins & how to continue winning always by focusing on the team rather than on individuals

Ultimately all of us want India to win matches! If India wins it with Sachin in team, how is it hurting you? If not today, Sachin will retire from Cricket one day & a youngster will take over his place & still India will win & that is what we are looking forward to. When you say, India does not win only b'coz of one individual, how does it matter when 1 individual is in the team when India is winning irrespective of his age? Why are you crying for Sachin's ouster? As you say, 1 individual does not make a difference to team. So let the team keep winning & we have no complaints.

I did not post a comment about Sachin. I posted a comment about our Boards functioning. A team can win consistently only when no player becomes irreplaceable, a team keeps winning irrespective of whether that player in a particular match is not able to perform or is not available for a particular match. Hence a pool of players shud be developed who can takeover & replace any other player in the team. This can happen only when u allow exposure to newcomers. As far as Sachin is concerned, I think he shud play in the middle ranks & guide the team in case of a difficulty, allow a younger player to open

Dilshan was a makeshift opener. What grooming are you talking about? The same way Sehwag made his way from middle order to opener.

Grooming means allowing younger players to play at top intl levels & guiding & encouraging them to take on challenges. Like allowing a new comer like Mendis to face tough batsman or Suraj Randiv or S Lakmal to face top batsman as well as giving them hints, ideas & confidance about approaching there tasks, like the senior players taking a backseat & encouraging newcomers to face difficult situation. Giving newcomers support by the management as well as other senior players. Like Sehwag did when he was asked to captain- encouraging the younger players to perform to there best & make a mark for themselves prior to the 2011 world cup.

What exactly is your grievance?

Judging by the current performance of both India and Sri Lanka I think the Lankan board needs to take some lessons from BCCI on how to manage the team. ;-)

BCCI is not managing the team, it is the players performances which is resulting in wins. Whereas the Sri Lankan is managing the team even though they lost the series, they have already built a pool of players who can match the established players & take on any opposition. Our board does not do that.

I think SL is not using him in ODIs perfectly or he is not fit for ODIs. I know he has a healthy avg, but that was shot up when he playd against minnows.
He shud either come at 3/4 or should be dropped. He is not serving any purpose at his current position.

you are all andhe l00das. bl00dy f00ls first of all admire sachin for what he has achieved. i remember those days when Azhar was captain, it was only bec of sachin , india used to win. if sachin plays india wins that was the slogan. he dominated the scenes for 6 years in one day and test matches as well.

Doesn't matter if somebody criticize the master. A master is always a master & nothing can take away his hard work & dedication shown for last 20yrs in International cricket. Let us not be bothered about someone who talks about Sachin negatively, instead let us teach them cricketing fundamentals!

SAchin scores in first 20 balls is always around 8 - 10 runs

by the time Sehwaq has already scored around 30 - 40 runs

the fate of the match may not b decided in the first 20 balls. But, his rate of scoring is very less and that too on good batting wickets. Had Gambhir opened in hisplace the rate and score would have been more. A few xtra runs r always a bonus and i think u will also agree with it.

then who will score run consistantly.Look @ the score made by other player. only 1 match was well played by gambhir and sehwag. Lets say 2 we won.In those 2 also there is 1 70 from sachin. To win a series we consistance batting. And Sachin is the ONLY (capital) choice.just look @ the runs scored by sachin and othr's in last 2-3 yrs. Dont bark and waiste other's time
