It would not have any effect.SA had not to lose first 2 tests vs England.Hope that Englad beat SA in 3 rd and fourth tests as well and then India beat SA in both tests at home next year.

no india will remain no 1 until, SA has a chance to win the ongoing series with england, but it looks impossible for them as the way england is going. secondly, according to current icc test rankings, australia are 8 points away from india, even if they win the series by 3-0, they will in second position. now india got 2 chances to remain no 1 in 2010 too, firstly 2 test against bangladesh, secondly SA cricket board agreed to tour india as they will play 2 test. so there is a brightest side for india to be no 1

Australia has lost test series against India, SA last year and Ashes this year. So, they have lost points and even if they beat Pak with a clean sweep, they will lag behind BCCI XI.

India position was never going to depend on Aus Pak series. It was depended on Eng SA series only

once upon a time, cricket was played only during Winter and was named Gentlemen Game. Now it is played throughout the year like a Movie and has already lost 75% of its original value. I remember Test players were paid Rs.5000/10000 and Ranji Players 2000/5000 depending on seniority. At that time, there were no sponsors and only very few players like Gavaskar, Pataudi, Kapil were ambassadors for few national brands. Now players earn more through endorsement than playing matches. World No. 1 Federer whose total earning is few hundred million just endorses two international brands of which one is Rolex. Whereas our fellows endorse at drop of hat without knowing the product details. And our foolish people purchase without knowing the efficacy of the product. So this Ranking is not a botheration to our players and BCCI as long as we fools keep pondering our hard earned money on these idiots. A wise man had said around 75 years ago that this game is meant for fools and it has proved right in 21st century.

Yes, It was Bernard Shaw who said "11 fools are playing & 11000 fools are watching". Now it is '11 fools are playing & 110000 fools are watching either in the stadium or on TV'.The 'art' of cricket is lost due to the fast paced Twnety20s & protective gears.
Guys dont speak without any sence about sachin. He is a legend truly he is our Precious Stone. We shud praise this legend not to curse. He is Master of records. If he is playin for himself. He wud never interferd in field placing, bowling tacticts,or batting tips which he gives for all in the team.Definitly Sachin will come out of cricket. He knows that we knows that.Still that we pray for India winning World Cup 2011 with Sachin in our Team...Lets pray for his dream Come true...One last chance for the Master

Sachin's average in the next world cup will be around 19.5. His days are over.
What is this nonsense of playing for the " country ". All these fellas play only for money and fame. Please do not bring India and Country into cricket.
