I would think test cricket should have the following format -
1. 125 overs for the first innings for each team and then 100 overs for the second inngings for each team. This adds up to 450 overs in 5 days, which is 90 overs/day as is now. This will ensure that there is more likelyhood of results.
2. Each team plays a minimum of 8 tests per year and the top 4 teams in Dec will have a playoff - Semi Finals and Finals to determine the Test Champion on Dec 31st.
3. There will a strength of schedule formula to determine the opponents that each team will play in a year similar to American Football(NFL)
4. A similar format can be had for ODIs where a ODI champion will be crowned on Dec 31st after a playoff format.
5. No more World Cups for ODIs. No T20 to have World Cup.
brilliant player like wasim jafar, ajit agarkar, ramesh powar, badrinath sit out side test squad because of sachin's hunger of more records makes him play till world cup 2015 so i suggest only one player can play one one format of game that is test match, 50-50 or t20 depending on his strike rate

Pravin go to some internet site to get basic info on cricket. Jafar is an opener in test who can not replace Gambhir or Sehwagh. Badri is middle order batsman who can not replace one of middle order batamn like Dravid, Sachin, VVS, Yuvi. Agarkar is medium pace bowler who should compete with Zahir, Ishant, Shrishant or Pravin Kumar. Considering Agarkars age it is obvious to have younger man. So Sachin has no competition with any of your listed players except partially with Badri. In that case if they want to push him in then there are many choices in middle order to show doors(Dravid, VVS etc.) not only Sachin.

mr pravin u r right players like jaffer agarkar power prove himself in past that is why they r not even in IPL team and they should play 50-50 or 20-20 sachin is god he make so many record total no of record he have is 19 in international cricket and jaffer power hardly play 19 matches badrinath not prove himself in ODI see kohli who prove his selection

excellent...so by dropping sachin can we accomodate 4 players in the team?..wahh so take it granted that sachin is dropped and jaffer is drafted in... now...whom do u drop to accomodate other players..please throw some light..

Are you nuts by saying sachin tendulkar has taken places of players like agarkar and powar I think you forgot that agarkar is the one who has 7 consecutive ducks under his name and look at his bowling he cant win matches for mumbai nor knight riders how can he win matched for india. He was once the fastest 50 wicket taker in one day cricket but not any more even a club cricketer would play better then him and you are comparing him to sachin i think you need to check the facts
