Bench strength, of the present Indian cricket team, is quite sound. Virat Kohli is the standing example of our Bench Strength. The present selection comitteeis doing a wonderful job.

What vision is this man talking about? As chief selector, what was his vision that went blind when he so unceremoniously ousted Rahul Dravid from the one day team even though Dravid was good then and good even now for all forms of cricket which he need not prove again to any one. He must have had myopic vision or was that vindictiveness that made him treat Dravid the way he did. Now this angel of vision wants srikanth to have vision! The pot calling the kettle black!!
Vengsarkar has rightly said that we should give chance to the reserve players, if yuvraj was not injured Kohli would not have got a chance to play at Eden Gardens. We should consciciously take some bold decsions to be on top in ODIs and prepare ourselves for 2011 world cup.
Vengsarker's suggestion to try out new bowlers is problematic for Indian cricket for years. The bowling attack selection is complicated and Sudeep Tyagi has an FC average of 33 with E/R=4.33, his projected average can go as high as 39, which is not very competitive in International cricket with averages as low as 25 are typical and in the sub-continent it needs to be about 30.
The Indian bowling attach needs to seperated into 2 modes: Sub-continent conditions and overseas where there is more pace, swing and bounce for the bowlers. In addition, ODI bowling is defensive compared to Test matches. Sudeep or the new bowlers have not shown any thing strong in FC cricket to justify their selection. The problem with Sreesanth and Ishant has been ODI bowling economy rates on flat batting tracks but are overall good bowlers in Tests. Only a bowler of Zaheer calibre can play all 3 formats anywhere in the world and that level is still missing at the domestic level. Nehra had problems in Tests as well.
Everyone knows very well that the selectors can select the 15 member squad only and the playing eleven decided by the Captain and Coach only. How this dig was served as a chief Selector??? He is very cheap and jealous that the current Selectors picking very good squad and not only from a particular place. His comments is a third class like him.
Sachin play till2011 world cup because 1) To erase zero innings that scored in last world cup and then to take care it should not happen to retire aftr scoring some decent score in 2011 world cup 2) To acheive record of no of max appearances by a cricketer in world cup.
Youngsters have more power of this generation of cricket especially after 20-20 cricket came into existence,so sachin should retire soon and give his place to virat.
