It is high time that ICC should honour persons who had entertained the cricket world. Jayasuriya - the way in which he has played as an opener by demoralising the bowlers, his brilliant fielding and his unusual spin bowling will ever be remembered in cricket history. Congrats once again Jaya. Wish u a great time ahead.
ganguly still 1 or 2 years of crikcet left in him he is in the top lefthanders list with lara, anwars and gyle . he hit huge sixes , place innings well, winning more importantly and a very good catcher as well.
Gambhir is immensely talented and all set to acquire the crown of "Greatest indian leftie of all time" which is currently held by dada. It is agood gesture of appreciation that dada has shown to his crown prince.
No batsaman is technically correct. So whats Dada is talking about. He was very weak agt. pace attack & on bouncy track. Even sachin faces problems agt. bouncers & seeming conditions. Everyone has their own plus & minus. Our own veru is technically wrong. But look at the amount of runs he scores. So stop talking of tefhnique. Only consistency is required. Mind game is important. In todays' powerplay hand & eye co-ordination is important. Further the amount of matches are being held one can easily come back with a great knock after failing for 3/4 innings.
I would feel Gambir could be the next Sachin Tendulkar if he bats like this consistently..I would say he has to tecnicaly improve his batting a bit to come into the top batters list..
Let us see next 3-4 years and we will see whwether he will be able to maintain his calibre the way the master blaster did.

If Tendulkar can, why not others? Remember, Ganguly was forced to retire when he was performing.
