The teams will be going to the Next Round SF
by Senthil on Dec 26, 2009 12:49 AM

Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Mumbai and Karnataka.

UP bowling attack is the strongest in the domestic circuit at present next to Karnataka. So they can win the match since their bowlers got the ability to take 20 wickets in quick time.

Tamil Nadu Batsman's are in purple batch. They score heavily and give the Bowlers great opportunity to attack with 3 spinners they can easily progress to the next round. They have a very well balanced team as well since their lower order is batting really well.

Karnataka's all 3 seamer's are in great form. Their new batsman's are really playing very well then the Old Batsman's. They are very well balanced team and so far they are the pick of the team but they must be careful against Punjab's bowling attack which is so good but their batsman's are in very poor form.

Mumbai is so inconsistent and Ajit Agarkar rescued by his team twice by his batting shows this. Their batting and bowling are so inconsistent through out the tournament. They got the easier opponent now but in Semis if they have to face Karnataka or Tamil Nadu they will be in trouble.

He is the only senior guy who'll play in all domestic games if there is no international assignments. Hats off to his commitment and fitness.

Rahane is more hype than anything else, similar to his Mumbai colleague Rohit Sharma. I think Bhajji's ODI average will not be much lower than Rohit's. Manish Pandey should have been given a chance for the ODI series. It shocks me how Rohot Sharma keeps coming back, despite a series of flop shows.

UP team is great

UP team has been in the last four in the Ranjis for last several years. I believe that UP Ranji team is much better than the Indian national team.

That's so not right. UP is clearly one of the most dominant teams in domestic cricket. They are on course for their 4th semi-final appearance in last 5 seasons. That said, it's largely due to their very strong bowling line-up. Their batting has largely been ineffective and is very suspect, to say the least. With the exception of Parvinder Singh, no other batsman has been consistent. Kaif has got a few 50s but hasn't been able to convert those into a big score.

Dravid is getting desperate
by Goldman Banker on Dec 25, 2009 09:18 PM

He can't score runs even in Ranji Trophy cricket.

He shouldn't be playing cricket anymore. It is unfair on other players when you have a guy like Dravid who is in the team without ever performing. He should have been chucked out long back. He didn't perform in 2007 or 2008 and he should never have played ODI cricket ever. He is the most pathetic ODI player to have played so many matches.

Dravid flops again
by Kolkata King on Dec 25, 2009 09:09 PM  | Hide replies

Why is he playing against school boys when he is still playing international cricket? Just to score runs against them and then get a place in the team which he doesn't deserve.

Even that didn't work as he got bowled. ROFL. Look at his strike rate against a Ranji team. He can't even dominate school boy bowling attacks. Selfish and overrated player!

That's to practice for IPL. Anyways, he has recently announced that he won't play for Bengal any more.
